QuantumGuy··on Google's Quantum Computer Proven To Be Real Thing (Almost)
It's Dwaves creation but Google bought it. Last time I checked the search engine was created in house.
QuantumGuy··on Advice for ambitious 19 year olds
I am 19 and I think this is terrible advice.I would love to work at Microsoft not just because of the pay but because of the people I would work with. Some of the greatest minds in the world call Microsoft their place of work. Mind you I am doing my own thing and not looking to get hired but still if presented the chance I would take it.
QuantumGuy··on Ask HN: Learning HTML
Codeacademy.com you cannot go wrong there. It is a great starting place with lessons that teach you by making you code. Best way to learn anything IMO.
QuantumGuy··on The Big Brother Reading List
Someone should whip up a quick website listing all these books. I would do it myself but I have neither the money or knowledge to do so. I will be reading all the books listed in this thread post haste.
QuantumGuy··on Dear NSA, let me take care of your slides.
Anybody know what software is used to make those slides?
QuantumGuy··on Ask HN: what about email is broken?
As I said earlier in a related post "email clients are stuck in the 90s. The way they look and organized hasn't changed in 20 years. You need to throw out all you think an email client should be and make your own. That is my sincerest suggestion. If you do not believe me go look for yourself. Outlook,Yahoo Mail,Gmail, etc all look the same as the did 20 years ago. I use Thunderbird but I hate how it looks and works." Plus it is still insecure but Mozilla may fix that with Persona.

QuantumGuy··on Show HN: Hacker Nation Pilot [video]
I was wondering when someone was going to do this. Though I wish this video had a more professional feel to it.

What do you mean?
QuantumGuy··on Email clients needs to evolved, what do you think?
Email clients are stuck in the 90s. I use Thunderbird but I hate how it looks and works. Which is why I asked one of the people at Mozilla if I could contribute. No response yet though.
QuantumGuy··on Linux To Become Exclusive OS Of The International Space Station
How is it not already the exclusive OS?
QuantumGuy··on Ask HN: I'm an engineer, how do I learn design?
I can vouch for them. The lessons are easy and the material is indepth. It covers from typography all the way to UX design. They keep adding more lessons. Which reminds me I need to catch up.
QuantumGuy··on Poll: What is your primary desktop OS?
I started with Ubuntu Linux then made the switch to Mint for a while and switched back just within the past month. After a few weeks of dealing with constant error popups on Ubuntu 13.04 I decided to permanently switch to Mint. May switch to Debian or OpenSuse just to see what they are like.

QuantumGuy··on Show HN: See what the best startups in the world are using
Thanks for the heads up. It explains what I was seeing the other day.
QuantumGuy··on Gmail: Introducing Actions in the Inbox
Just need to make sure I am getting this. Actions will make things happen once you open the email right? I am rather confused by this whole concept. Furthermore when will Google give me more control over my inbox like a builtin ifttt system? I mean filters does alot but I want more and not just for gmail but for all Google services. Example certain days I go to the gym but I only go if it is not raining. I wish I could tell calendar schedule gym if not raining. Is that what actions is?
QuantumGuy··on Ask HN: What are some good programming blogs?
xkcd.com
QuantumGuy··on Ask HN: I am sick and tired, help me.
Make an email client that doesn't suck and make it open source. Price whatever you decide. Obviously web based. Seriously current email tech is stuck in the 90s. Gmail really hasn't changed since then nor has Yahoo email or AOL. They all look the same and act the same. They are very programable and by that I mean I cannot control them. I want to control my email very precisely and yes gmail filters does sort of provide that but I want to be able to control more.
QuantumGuy··on Jekyll 1.0 Released
I am not saying it is bad but when I click the link the first thing I see is a pay wall.
QuantumGuy··on Jekyll 1.0 Released
How will this affect octopress?
QuantumGuy··on Jekyll 1.0 Released
Remove the pay wall so I can see the guide
QuantumGuy··on Premature Abstraction
How is this any different from blogging?
QuantumGuy··on Mozilla Accepting Applications for its Open Source Accelerator
Strictly web right?
QuantumGuy··on Mozilla Accepting Applications for its Open Source Accelerator
Is it wrong to say this is the peak(IMO) of what the Internet should be? What with people building cool stuff, open sourcing it, and getting help from others who have already gone down the road.
QuantumGuy··on Show HN: Subvim – Vim customized to be like SublimeText
I have got to ask the obvious here, why not just switch?
QuantumGuy··on Google Reader shutting down
