QuickToBan··on Alaskan glaciers melting 100 times faster than previously thought
You're too clueless to understand that the number one thing that is extremist is emitting so much CO2. It's pointless to debate anything with someone of significantly dissimilar intelligence.
QuickToBan··on Alaskan glaciers melting 100 times faster than previously thought
> The success of the new method “opens the door for researchers to do this all over the world,” says Sutherland. Specifically, insight from the research at LeConte Glacier in Alaska could be used to study glaciers in Greenland and Antarctica. “Submarine melting may matter everywhere,” says Enderlin.

QuickToBan··on Demystifying Containers, Docker, and Kubernetes
Microsoft is not in the clear yet. They will be after Windows uses the Linux kernel, and Microsoft uses Rust. I'd give it ten more years and reevaluate.
QuickToBan··on No CS Degree – Interviews with self-taught developers
Why does this title presuppose that people with CS degrees can't also be self-taught? A degree is a piece of paper that employers need; it has little to do with learning anything useful.
QuickToBan··on Employers are mining the data their workers generate
I effectively did ask for it. You're no less useless than the other person. I recommend you stop wasting people's time on this board, and learn to be helpful when help is asked.
QuickToBan··on Employers are mining the data their workers generate
All I wanted via my original comment in this thread is the workaround. People like others and you offer a lot of advice, but not the workaround I sought. I don't want to have to read ten pages to find the workaround either.
QuickToBan··on Employers are mining the data their workers generate
Why do you allow paywalls though if people can't even read them? It's stupid. Just disallow the paywalled domains from being posted. It's not rocket science. If you think you actually have any control, do it.

How am I supposed to read this paywalled article? I'm not paying for it.

QuickToBan··on Possible link between sugary drinks and cancer
Berberine is great but I can't sleep if I take it late in the day. I have to take it first thing in the morning, and even then it's quite powerful in its hunger-inducing effect.
QuickToBan··on Possible link between sugary drinks and cancer
I get a worsening of tinnitus from metformin, even in a 250 mg dose, but not from berberine.

QuickToBan··on What I Learned from Quitting Coffee After 15 Years of Daily Consumption
It is seriously irrational to quit coffee since it is associated with a significant reduction in mortality. This has been valifated by multiple meta-analyses. Of course you don't want to drink so much that it harms your sleep.

> you’d think developers are sacred and never do wrong but have no free will or input.

Developers who express their free will strongly risk getting fired. It pays to keep their mouth shut and let the firm torpedo itself.

QuickToBan··on Sugary drinks and cancer risk: results from NutriNet-Santé prospective cohort
Solid fruits are not linked to cancer, although the pesticides in them can be carcinogenic.
QuickToBan··on Sugary drinks and cancer risk: results from NutriNet-Santé prospective cohort
Fructose in actual solid fruits in moderation is fine.
QuickToBan··on Sugary drinks and cancer risk: results from NutriNet-Santé prospective cohort
There is no evidence that the content of acrylamide in coffee is concerning. Nevertheless I agree that acrylamide is a general concern, and its levels in foods and drinks including coffee needs to be regulated better.
QuickToBan··on Sugary drinks and cancer risk: results from NutriNet-Santé prospective cohort

QuickToBan··on Project Vesta – Mitigating climate change with green sand beaches
> What could possibly go wrong?

Nothing. It already happens in nature, but at a far smaller scale. It is not a self-renewing or runaway process. The point is to distribute the correct amount of olivine to stabilize CO2 at ~200 PPM which is close to its pre-industrial level.

QuickToBan··on Breaching a “carbon threshold” could lead to mass extinction
For one, sponsor lobbyists for renewables and invest in renewable energy plants. Do this especially where this competition from fossil fuel plants, with a clear intent to attempt to shut them down due to lack of business. Most customers will buy cheaper energy from renewables.
