Raticide··on MacBook Pro Keyboard Drives Me Crazy
But they're still keeping the annoying touchbar. I suppose I'm stuck with Dell laptops now.
Raticide··on Dogs’ Eyes Have Changed Since Humans Befriended Them
I think it's because chihuahuas and great danes have all the same bits, just with different scales/shapes. Where as entirely new muscles take a lot more work to evolve.
Raticide··on NZ Court of Appeal Upholds Kim Dotcom Extradition Decision to the US
Kim has no part in running it these days and doesn't trust it.

Raticide··on How a Hacker Proved Cops Used a Stingray to Find Him
It's always the adverts that screw up a site. Maybe it's mining crypto currency too?
Raticide··on The Race to Save the Axolotl
The USA would benefit a lot if it moved to a more proportional voting system. It seem ridiculous to me that such a large country effectively only has 2 parties.
Raticide··on A friend of mine died and I didn't know because of algorithms
I dunno about other people, but I almost completely ignore those big background posts. I think my brain sees them as adverts/spam and just filters them out.
Raticide··on Dangers of CSV Injection
What's a good alternative non-proprietary format that all major spreadsheet software supports?
Raticide··on Dead Coins – A list of dead cryptocurrencies
Dogecoin is doing fine: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/
Raticide··on PuTTY 0.68 has been released
The default terminal was a bit limited for me, but I hear they're making big improvements to it in later builds.
Raticide··on PuTTY 0.68 has been released
Give this a whirl: https://github.com/mintty/wsltty
Raticide··on PuTTY 0.68 has been released
I've stopped using PuTTY and now use MinTTY with the Ubuntu subsystem and the regular old Ubuntu SSH client. Specifically this thing: https://github.com/mintty/wsltty

It's real nice and even supports 24bit colour if you're into that.

Raticide··on GitLab Database Incident – Live Report
It happens to everyone eventually, so don't feel too bad. But at least now you'll have a much more robust backup process.
Raticide··on GIMP – 2016 in review
What annoys me the most about the interface is that dialogs ALWAYS open on the wrong screen. Is it so hard to open the dialogs on the same screen as the main window?
Raticide··on Mathematicians bring ocean to life for Disney's 'Moana'
All fine for me in Safari on OSX 10.10.3 http://i.imgur.com/ZwbQ08N.png
Raticide··on Microsoft planning to enable x86 on ARM64 emulation in Windows 10 by Fall 2017
Apple emulated PowerPC on x86 when they initially switched to Intel CPUs, and it wasn't too bad really.
Raticide··on Web fonts, boy, I don't know
Nope, I don't think so. It would be hard to pull off as you might be using the font on an <input> and the user could type any character. Or you could be pulling text in through an XHR and won't know in advance what characters will be returned.
Raticide··on How well do you know CSS display?
You should try hot-reloading, then it'll work on the first try... kinda.
Raticide··on Spain Runs Out of Workers with Almost 5M Unemployed
Well, at least they won't have to compete with the UK soon.
Raticide··on Rails 5.0: Action Cable, API mode, and more
This falls apart when you need multiple scopes as it can't tell how to group the 'AND' and 'OR's. The new Rails syntax avoids this problem.
Raticide··on Dwarf Fortress Development
I don't think he even uses source control, so I imagine the code is not the cleanest.
Raticide··on UK votes to leave EU
While it's not legally binding it would be political suicide for the government to go against the referendum. There's zero chance of them doing that.
Raticide··on Power plants that convert all of their CO2 emissions into carbon nanotubes
Some nanotubes have a similar affect to asbestos when inhaled, so I sure hope they're not just leaving piles of it lying around.

Raticide··on GNU Screen v.4.4.0
I use this every single day and it works perfectly. Are you using the default OSX terminal? If so you should try iTerm2 instead.
Raticide··on ECMAScript 2016 Approved
I can't find anything related to it. It's literally the only feature I use in ES7, so I hope it is in there. Perhaps it has some other obscure name?
Raticide··on Why Online Voting Is a Danger to Democracy
But those things do go wrong all the time. Luckily they don't dictate who controls the entire country.
Raticide··on Being sued, in East Texas, for using the Google Play Store [video]
You can even do evil like

    #define true false
Raticide··on 25-year-old lived for more than a year without a heart
But at least it's a totally painless and stress free way to die.
Raticide··on Why Are the Highly Educated So Liberal?
In Aus the right wing party is the Liberal party.
Raticide··on LinkedIn password leak
I think you're fine.
Raticide··on Craig Wright Is Not Satoshi Nakamoto
Interesting video, but the resolution is awful, is there a better version out there somewhere?
