SenorWilson··on C++ containers that save memory and time
I don't really think it is possible to say one is better than another without a specific application in mind. Probably just chose whatever one they wanted at the time.
SenorWilson··on Save your eyes, start using f.lux
I find lowering the brightness on my monitor 10x better than f.lux.
SenorWilson··on Favorite Unix Commands
Are you some kind of genius?
SenorWilson··on Behind enemy lines: 3 months as an iOS developer at Google
Without it there would be lots of comments that questioned the reason for early termination.
SenorWilson··on Behind enemy lines: 3 months as an iOS developer at Google
I thought it was weird at first too, but after learning Objective-c I can say that it is beautiful.
SenorWilson··on Ideas for Raspberry Pi Projects
You could probably install backtrack on a Pi, although it may require some tweaking if no one has created an install already.
SenorWilson··on HTTPKit — A lightweight HTTP server framework for Objective-C
Building web frameworks is all the rage.
SenorWilson··on From Python to Ruby: Mind Blown by Rails, the Framework
Haha yeah, I was too. I had to keep reading to find out; maybe that was the point.
SenorWilson··on New tool for secret agents and the rest of us
Any one else annoyed by the menu bars that follow you around? I've noticed this trend and they just distract me from the article at hand...
SenorWilson··on Jun Fukuyama's P≠NP Page
Basically prove/disprove a p-np problem can be solved(in polynomial time) then you've proved it for the rest of the p-np problems.
SenorWilson··on 25-GPU cluster cracks every standard Windows password in less than 6 hours
I'm sure they were able to crack the encryption method before Microsoft started using it.
SenorWilson··on What was the strangest coding standard rule that you were forced to follow?
I'm not sure what's up with all the hate for reverse hungarian notation, but I personally think it is helpful when writing C/C++.

SenorWilson··on Are Programmers Engineers?
Ugh... This article was hard to read.
SenorWilson··on Stackoverflow abuses nofollow (2011)
They're technically using it for it's purpose, or they can claim they are even if they have a different motive. Stackoverflow allows links in comments and posts and this could be abused.
SenorWilson··on Is JavaScript the Future of Programming?
JavaScript is useful for some things; it can be used for all things, but that doesn't mean it should be.
SenorWilson··on 15 Incredibly Creative Resumes
If I were an employer these would make me laugh and annoy me.
SenorWilson··on Colorado measure legalizing marijuana passes
The same way they do now. They'll do a bust every couple of months to keep their directors happy.
SenorWilson··on Hugepic - a web app for showing massive pictures
They do if you refresh the page, but doing something like this is a nightmare because it floods your browsing history with useless junk.

This should be changed immediately.

SenorWilson··on The Tech Behind Apple’s Impossibly Thin New iMacs
The older iMacs looked great. At least in my opinion, thinner doesn't make them look better. Not worse either... just different.
SenorWilson··on The Tech Behind Apple’s Impossibly Thin New iMacs
This is interesting, but I have no idea why they're spending money making a desktop thinner. Using the old thickness(which was fine) and todays technology could produce a better computer. Why do people want thin desktops(or why does Apple?).
SenorWilson··on Why I Program in Erlang
> The author mentions how he thinks representing all strings as linked lists is the 'right thing to do

I think the author just likes that the runtime for string concatenation is fast; not sure why he ignores the fact that you'd need to chase pointers for every other string op.

He then goes on to talk about openCL and how he can use his erlang code to use the benefits of the openCL compiler, but of the 25 years of using this language, he's only had this benefit for a couple of years.

Sounds wacky to me.
