Honest question: Is this an age thing? After reading some of the "witty" things they tried to say it sounded like my 58 year old dad trying to spew out playful banter to my friends at a bar...it just doesnt work.
Why really should Twitter care? Do they have any obligation to developers? No. Correct me if I'm wrong but legally what's stopping Twitter from shutting off its API and creating its own client?
"Tyranny of Choice" at its best.
But this is business and this is why these companies make as much money as they do. When you are in charge of such a project and your ass is on the line who better to blame than a large Fortune 500 type of company (i.e. Accenture, Deloitte, IBM, etc). You can't get fired for failing a project with a vendor that is considered the "best" but you can for using "Jim's Custom Development Shack".
I fully agree...but unfortunately for these people they are tied to larg-corp H1B visas which restrict their freedom to leave the company and create jobs elsewhere.
Here is the key issue...how do you decided who is talented and who is not? This would become a highly bureaucratic issue.
Your contribution is to society is taxes?? Not sure I really follow you there.
