SteveMorin··on Openrouter Fusion API
Spent the weekend inspired by the new openrouter fusion model and wanted to see if it could run in Claude Code and if I could make it very easy for everyone else to try.

Built - claude-fusion-launcher — run Claude Code on a panel of models, not just one

Also shows cost

SteveMorin··on Ohm: A library and language for building parsers, interpreters, compilers, etc
Know anyone trying to use it to generate Erlang/Beam byte code? Or compiling wasm to beam?
SteveMorin··on Elixir and Phoenix can do it all
Elixir/Erlang is great and excited for types. A project that would help webassembly run natively on the beam with an actor model interface.

SteveMorin··on Ask HN: How to deal with regret of not having kids
My wife had our first child at 38 and second at 40. Friends have had kids at 44 and 48. Dr in SF said sees a lot of people having kids in their 40s.

It's great unless you or your wife have a specific medical condition you can sill have kids. We didn't need IVF, but have many friends that have used it very successfully.

SteveMorin··on Ask HN: I realise data science is not for me and feel depressed
1) Finish your degree 2) Get a entry level role in SWE or internship (your degree is very compatible with that) 3) Program something you can demonstrate in the mean time (will help get you in the door and build skills) 4) keep building and applying 5) realize you might not like SWE either, that’s okay you can switch again.

SteveMorin··on Clubhouse Payments
I wonder how this will compete with things like substack.

Will creator support like clubhouse's payments, undermine or enhance things like payments from platforms like substack.

I use both for my newsletter: For example my newsletter ProductiveGrowth , weekly stories about productivity, leadership, motivation, and anything else that helps us and our teams grow and be more productive.

I don't use either payment option now, but make me wonder which to use.

SteveMorin··on Silicon Valley pay cuts ignite tech-industry Covid-19 tensions
Why?
SteveMorin··on Remote work is reshaping San Francisco, as tech workers flee and rents fall
30 Yr Mortgage would be 2.75%-3.1% with very good credit right now
SteveMorin··on A major reason for departures at Slack was “remote work request rejected”
Asana with its inbox workflow (most people don’t pay attention to this feature) will help all remote companies. It basically is a non noisy inbox for tasks , when paired with a culture of not providing immediate feedback works nicely. Didn’t believe it at first but after using it for onboarding all remote like how it enables async work. We also use slack and think the two pair really well. Allows for deep work even as a manager. Disclaimer I am a recent Asana hire that onboarded remotely.

SteveMorin··on Show HN: I wrote a book for engineers that want to become engineering managers
Have some questions for you. What's the best way to get in touch?
SteveMorin··on Why am I interested in Elixir?
Great language and importing other technologies though NiF to integrate c and rust (wrapping c or not) with Elixir. My old company build many systems on it and hope another will in the future.
