correct, and that's largely why writing is a creative endeavour.

Immich uses postgres because it relies on VectorChord for smart search.

It's what powers the ability to search your photos for "a dog on a beach".

It's also a fairly sensible decision.

Yep. I'd pre-order 3 today if i could get it with first class HomeAssistant app support.

I am the designated family photographer. Many of those are raw files (30MB each), so admittedly a portion of them will never be seen again. Storage is cheap though, especially local storage I don't pay a cloud subscription for, so it hasn't bothered me.

And as the other child comment mentions, my rate of photo production has increased exponentially since having kids.

I run a 5 node kubernetes cluster as my homelab. It has both public and private DNS for local upload (faster) and for remote access and sharing (via a Cloudflare tunnel).

I moved my 565GB photo library to immich about a year ago and haven't looked back. Unfortunately, convincing my wife has been a bit harder, as she has real network effects of many shared albums across a large family (30+) that all aren't going to switch the immich app so they can join her album and sync the photos.

Nonetheless, a positive move in the right direction!

First world problems but my Australian retail plan already offers a free period between 11am-2pm without any usage cap, so now with this policy introduction i'm worried my provider will introduce such a cap under the guise of 'its what the government says we can do'.

Apparently an issue with NTP across thousands of nodes.

You're right to call that out

Depending on your firmware version, most jailbreak guides will have you either create an empty directory with the same name as the OTA firmware file (causing any OTA downloads to fail) or install an extension called `renameotabin` which renames the binaries responsible for performing the update, rendering them inaccessible.

My action failed with "Unexpected error fetching GitHub release for tag refs/heads/master: HttpError: Sorry. Your account was suspended"

Which certainly made me shit myself, briefly.

This is roughly how I’ve found myself using jj naturally. I find it hard to “tell the story” of a change ahead of time, because the design often only becomes clear after some exploration. It’s much easier to land at an implementation I’m happy with, then work backwards and shape the commits into the story I wish I’d taken.

I too continue parenting my children once they are asleep.

Funnily enough, I used to! (I even contributed a few PRs). However with my new home battery I need more granular control to do some tariff arbitrage that EVCC didn't really support. Great project though!

or, use Home Assistant to handle your charging schedules.

That's the point. Your prototype doesn't need to be pretty. It just needs to prove that the value is there for it to be made pretty.

A bit dramatic. It’s a 15 second read

If “good intent” means making a copycat website and putting Don Ho’s name on the author bio page.

You can toggle all three independently via the Watch App > Workout > Reminders

> The industry has a lot of work to do in this department

The “industry” has an answer to this problem. It’s called a blameless post-mortem.

Don’t blindly externalise the blame onto everyone else, assume we work in a imperfect world and build safety around the process such that this doesn’t / can’t happen again.

If all you do is finger point to shift the blame, then you’ll have an infinite number of avoidable incidents to show for it

> Issues like this occurred and still occur without vibe coding

Right and so you focus on fixing the elements of the process you can control.

Gawiser filed a “writ of execution” (another $240 in court fees) just yesterday, which would allow Texas law enforcement to seize and sell off enough of Tesla’s property as would be required to pay the judgment against them.

I use pi (https://pi.dev/) as my coding agent which allowed you to use your subscription until Claude recently introduced extra usage and I was routinely using the equivalent of my Claude Max subscription in an hour multiple times a day.

The writing is on the wall.

I'll bet Justice department can't wait to get their hands on this.

Australia is also launching a class action.

It definitely has a learning curve and took me about 3 hours to get perfect. I’m glad I went through that because I absolutely will never go back.

Consistent fonts, padding, margins etc for every single book is so much better. OPDS support means effortless side loading of books. I love it

pi-coding-agent (https://shittycodingagent.ai/) is what I use and is particularly popular due to its simplicity and minimal system prompt.

How about the people that don't use OpenClaw, but alternative agent harnesses that are vastly better than Claude Code?

I have a receipt from August last year that prices 2x 48GB DDR5 modules at $179 AUD a piece. Same vendor has them currently at $708 AUD EACH!
