aaossa··on Show HN: I created a board game with Stable Diffusion
I'm not going to mention the awesome result and documented process, but I'm going to say: Congratulations! I'm happy that she said yes, and I wish you the best :)
aaossa··on Show HN: Contribution Graph as a Git Command
Hi HN!

A while ago I saw a CLI to display the GitHub contribution graph in a console, so I came up with the idea of a custom git command that made the exact same graph but based on the current repository.

If you like it or have any feedback about the tool itself and its code, just leave a comment. Thank you for your attention :)

aaossa··on The “Granny Knot”
I too prefer this approach tbh. Since a few years I've only used shoes or sneakers with no laces. At the beginning I though that I was going to have problems with it, but all has been good.
aaossa··on We are far from a better Heroku for production apps in a hyper cloud
Why is this not in the front page still? I'm not sure about how the ranking algorithm works but it seems that this has more points and is more recent that some of the post in the front page.
aaossa··on `three = 1` in the Linux sourcecode (2014)
No changes: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/fs/ext4/resize...
aaossa··on Brexit deal mentions Netscape browser and Mozilla Mail
Why does political activism have to be related to political ambitions? (I'm assuming you mean personal ambitions). Of course you could be an expert within a field but also try to promote or intervene in some decisions with your knowledge, without greater political aspirations. Is not a requirement, but if you're interested in providing useful insights from your field, just go for it.
aaossa··on Music Grid
Had a lot of fun playing this. Here's my contribution to this thread, inspired in some old games:

aaossa··on Show HN: Stream your pen/paper, explain remote students super effectively
Sorry for the delay. I'm on Android (phone) and Windows (desktop). At the moment of the test I was in the same network I think.
aaossa··on Show HN: Stream your pen/paper, explain remote students super effectively
Hi, this sounds really usefl and wanted to give it a try, but the connection hanged while trying to connect. I was able to scan the URL in my phone and open the browser (Firefox Nightly), but couldn't see it in action. My phone was stuck in "Peer Created", while desktop (Firefox Developer Edition) was at "Reconnecting!". Is it a network problem on my side?
aaossa··on Show HN: Covid-19 Treatment Dashboard
Hey, this looks really good! Didn't even know that the information about those studies was accesible. I don't understand the phases meaning, can you explain them? Maybe a table or tooltip somewhere could help.
aaossa··on Show HN: Skynet Simulator
@mr-ron, I never comment on anything, but this really deserves my respects. I had a really good time playing and enjoyed having to use my knowledge to crete Skynet. Thanks for creating this.
aaossa··on How to Enable DNS-over-HTTPS in Firefox
How can I check if I got the settings right? Is there any web app or command or something?
aaossa··on Ask HN: What day to day tasks do you automate?
I like to rotate my desktop background regularly, so I wrote a small script to download the daily image from a known website and save it in a folder. Then my OS picks up a random image from that folder each minute and set it up as background image
aaossa··on The dots do matter: how to scam a Gmail user
Yeah, another pattern I've seen is that confirmation is required just in case you need to provide a payment method.
aaossa··on The dots do matter: how to scam a Gmail user
IMO It's not Netflix fault, actually emails with dots in different positions should be different emails. Also, not sending a confirmation email is a common pattern now. Maybe an email about "you created an account :D" should be enough mitigation, but this is not their fault.
aaossa··on Show HN: Automatic detection of non-colorblind safe colors
I have a legit question. Do colorblind people use some extension in their browser? This post gave me the idea that maybe some extension could show them the warnings and some options to scale the colors in an appropiate manner. My first idea was to try using it in development, to check how colorblind people see our apps and provide a solution. Do you have any further plans or ideas with this? (It's an interesting topic, but I'm not very informed)
aaossa··on Postmortem of Service Outage at 3.4M Concurrent Users
Loved the tone of the article. They know they have some problems to work on, they're being transparent about them and they're explicitly saying that they need help with it.
aaossa··on Show HN: git-gud - A (really really) simple Git commit checker
Last night I was able to provide support to check multiple commits and specify a branch, just like git log would normally do. (https://github.com/aaossa/git-gud#usage). Thanks for the stars :)
aaossa··on Show HN: git-gud - A (really really) simple Git commit checker
Yeah, they're a bit strict. A possible solution is to ask for 'user.signingkey' in the config file and, if exists, expect a "good (G)" signature, but always warn about any other other unexpected state different than "good (G)" and "no signature (N)". Thanks rurban!
aaossa··on Show HN: git-gud - A (really really) simple Git commit checker
Hi HN! I made this short script to practice bash scripting and improve my git habilities. If you have any feedback (README, code, anything) please let me know!
aaossa··on Meta: Require users to open a link to enable upvoting and comments
Maybe enable voting only while viewing an item could work, to ensure that the reader at least saw the discussion or description.
aaossa··on Ask HN: Why you contribute or don't contribute to open source?
I contribute by dedicating each friday or saturday to open source projects (not mine). I do this because in CS all of our work depends on another's, and each time we import a module, visit a website, or use a phone, we KNOW that another person dedicated part of his life to do that. My contributions are my "thank you" to every person that gave part of his time to create something that helped me, creating something like an "open source cycle" where I help other because someone helped me
aaossa··on Why I left Mac for Windows: Apple has given up
Why is this flagged? It seems like an opinion from an informed user, an opinion like many others I've read in HN. Also, it was an interesting read for me.
aaossa··on Django 2.0 alpha
Well, they still have arount 2.5 years of support (https://pythonclock.org/)
aaossa··on De-Anonymizing Programmers via Code Stylometry (2015) [pdf]
Hey, I'm a TA at some CS courses, can this be used to find similar codebases? Maybe it useful to find similar programmers, find possible code copies and/or identify the author of a snippet. Any ideas?
aaossa··on Porting a historic Python2 module to Python3
You have any examples? I was planning to use 2to3 in a project, can you explain in which case it doesn't work? Thanks!
aaossa··on 7 Security Measures to Protect Your Servers
I don't really use DO that much, but I think that this post is very informative. I would like to know if security measures like those are everywhere or some devs ignore them.
aaossa··on Show HN: I built a database of tech conferences to know what to attend to next
I loved it! Already submited a local conference. Hope you make it to the front page :) You could stick some users if you create some kind of newsletter according to location and/or event tags. If you want some help, I would work on this!
aaossa··on Show HN: API Bootstrap – A better way to build your API
Hi, I'm getting "502 Bad Gateway" :( Seems interesting, so I hope you could fix it soon to let us see your webpage :)
