Anyone know what's going on here?
I'd also like to mention that I regret my uncharitable phrasing in my original comment "…the most ungooglable and generic name they could have chosen…". While I do think more specific names might have helped in some ways, I can appreciate the difficulty in coming up with names for this kind of thing.
fwiw, if xstate feels like too much for whatever reason, https://thisrobot.life has seemed like a decent alternative to me.
My own comment was a knee-jerk reactive comment in reply to what I felt in your post, which may or may not have been a real thing.
Idk. My hunch is that we are all addicted to something, and if you don't see what it is yet, then either you or society (or both) must not have much of a problem with that particular addiction, and that can always change.
* functional routing with persistent/shareable URLs
* working back button (see above)
* click-to-enlarge screenshots
* the logo (lightning bolt I guess) needs to navigate back to the home/root url
* the advertisement in the navigation menu makes it hard to notice the "Home" link which is sandwiched between the ad and the logo.
* more options for discovery (all games, most hyped, new submissions, just released (could feel like a celebration), browse-by-category, etc)
* this UI feels fully custom. it seems like it might be an uphill battle for ya'll to have pleasant UX without using some kind of design framework/component library
suggestions that i'm slightly less sure about:
* clicking any part of the game list item rows on the home page should navigate to the game (not just clicking on the title of the game itself)
things I like in particular:
* the direct link to the game's official site itself is really nice. I appreciate that it doesn't link to some in-house wiki listing for the game or whatever.
* game development-cycle status indicator is nice
Press a button, wait several seconds for something simple to happen on screen.
Felt like it was all held together with duct tape.
What seems less clear to me is if they will ever address the abysmal battery repairability[1], until which I will not be purchasing.

Looking from the outside in, it is also unclear what relation the Petal framework has with the PETAL stack, I am confused by the name collision.
1. The UI is horrendously slow/laggy/crashy.
2. It is yet another disposable device with a battery that cannot be easily replaced[1], which I consider to be unconscionable.
Otherwise, I liked it.
