If you are the sort of person for whom some finite amount is adequate, you will probably not make billions. I mean this in a nice way. If you are a person who thinks certain things outside money and power are more important, you are unlikely to do the odious things necessary to make billions.
Part of being competent is building legislative and other public service systems that run without you being at the helm, and bringing up younger leaders behind you who keep things going upward. Memento mori, and all that.
I saw a video recently about someone doing home automation work, put some transmitter in his basement, and all his neighbours' car key fobs stopped working because his transmitter was overwhelming them. It's hard to think of some LLM solution for that.
A good way to look at it is if I can use AI to add a feature/fix a bug, so can the maintainers. My doing it adds no value to the project. In projects where I am the maintainer/an employee, I can extract a lot of value from using AI to build, I don't need anyone's help to do it.
How long will it take to convince them that it is worth it to get into long-running relationships with the US. How long before another populist is elected who will rip up agreements for weird reasons and you have to renegotiate them?
Why does everyone assume that we're the ones keeping money under the mattress, not the ones who would have been paid by money otherwise not spent? All transactions have two sides, no?
I.e. spend more money to do things the TV can perfectly well do. We should make the spying illegal so we can use the devices we buy to their full potential without being sold to advertisers. "Give money to this other company that may or may not also be collecting data and may also sell you out in the future" is a suboptimal solution.
This probably includes little silly games like Candy Crush, and (maybe) others that seem more like "paper" games like Sudoku, Wordle, Connections, etc. Many play those, especially the second bucket.
My only beef with Jellyfind when I used it some time back was inability to resize subtitles, which were huge on a large TV. Could have been lack of knowledge on my part though.
You talk about it as if it's little cliques of students talking about each other in a cafeteria. It's not. It's a giant economy with a giant military that affects everyone's wellbeing.
The hope is in a few more years, we'll not have a cult hell bent on accelerating the apocalypse in charge of the largest economy in the world, or are you guys planning something different?
What brands would you think younger people consider a luxury brand? They do make smaller and sportier cars, but 5-series and up, X5 and up, those seem firmly in the luxury car category to me.
People usually say "this tv show wouldn't be made today", and it is usually wrong. But this, this would never be assented to by many countries in today's global political climate.
I really don't understand what everyone does that gets in their way on Linux desktop. I install Debian and the packages I use, I open Gnome, I open the software I'm using, I do my work.
