Is this the first big firm casualty from AI or just a prepackaged chapter 11 to take it private by those rich families?

absqueued··on Fingerprints are the new cookies
If you use Firefox, do the following: Use the extension Chameleon (set it to rotate Random profile every minute), had strict mode with JShelter extension.

This royfish blog example, or anyother, including that fingerprint.com gets new value everytime.

absqueued··on You Are No Longer Invited to Dinner
I still do this once a month a more frequently, I think Oslo being a small city allows me and my friends to afford this with ease of public transport.

Me and a pal talked about this problem exactly a week ago, we chatted how we just invite more and more friends but sheldomly get invited ourselves, and our conclusion was some people just are not good at hosting. I say that because they never hesitate to attend.

hwoever, my phone contact is fileld with peoples allergies notes, likes/dislikes and similar so I keep the party fit for all. Catering to everyones allergy and everyone seems to have one here in West is mad challenging.

absqueued··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (March 2026)
Alfred/Spotlight like quick access search[1] for Bitwarden.

Built and adding few add on features on the way: copy card numbers and view notes.

absqueued··on Prohibited Countries – Mercury Bank
The email I received says "Due to recent changes in how we determine account eligibility, we are no longer able to support accounts for businesses with physical or residential addresses in these countries. As a result, we will be closing the Mercury account1 for xxx xxx, LLC on May 1, 2026."

So is this the end for Non-US founders? This was the only bank that offered accounts/fin service without being physically present.

absqueued··on GrapheneOS – Break Free from Google and Apple
How is it a break from google/appple if the only supported devices are Pixels? I can't use my sony or other vendors hardware at all.

Are there valid reasons to only support pixels?

Wow AGPL for CSS ui framework!!
absqueued··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (February 2026)
I'm building a password tray app. It's tiny cross-platform app (spotlight like search) for people who juggle multiple password managers and browser profiles.

It gives you a global quick search to find and copy credentials from different sources, regardless of browser or profile.

absqueued··on Microsoft 365 now tracks you in real time?

absqueued··on Vimeo starts layoffs after acquisition by Bending Spoons
I hope they don't turn this into Meetup style nightmare!
absqueued··on A series of vignettes from my childhood and early career
I find the idea that IntelliJ being a job killer hard to believe, just like when some of my colleagues used to think Dreamweaver would wipe out frontend development - or 'HTML slicing', as we called it back then.
