Note: That is Dot CO -- no M -- just CO!
Next time, write a sentence or two of context about what you’re going to link to — who wrote it and when, why it’s interesting, and how/why it’s relevant to the topic at hand.
There’s almost never a need to copy/paste wholesale external content into an HN comment. Especially true when said content is literally linkable, and actually linked, from your comment!
They’re certainly all solvable and I have no doubt that the PE(s) putting their stamps on it will have valid proven solutions that check out mathematically.
I'm super intrigued by what you've created, especially to hear about running it in a compute shader! I'd love to talk with you more about it, if you're open to it? I briefly looked for a way to get in touch directly but didn't see any contact info -- my email is in my profile, I'd love to connect! :)
That was quicker than I had expected, though I thought they'd probably find a way to avert even a temporary shutdown to begin with.
In SimAirport they're used in a hierarchical way, primarily & specifically for "one level" of the game's overall hierarchical pathfinding systems (longer-distance paths), and they're critical to the game's ability to handle lots of agents.
Always love seeing your content here, Amit! :)

The visualizer, which is what I was _most_ interested in (along with software decoding) is written in C# and the rendering is done in Unity -- both things I valued & thought were cool. In theory, you could build a DIY multi-channel "receiver" with this type of software if given enough audio outputs (and/or put something like Dante to use).
I explored it a bit further but it's relatively cost prohibitive, especially if you want to do something like accept HDMI input, it gets messy. AFAICT, at least when I went down this research path a few months back, even finding & getting dev kits/boards with HDMI input (of semi-recent generation) was non-trivial & pretty pricey.

I’ve also always enjoyed every (virtual) interaction I’ve had with him, however brief — and appreciate that he remembers me and the problems/challenges we faced in my games.
SimAirport and SimCasino very likely wouldn’t be the same (or would have taken much longer to achieve, at best) without his content.
Just a class act; one of these days I’d love to buy Amit a beer or a coffee. My invite doesn’t expire, perhaps next time you’re in the area! :)
As a game developer myself, when someone asks me what it's like to make games during a casual conversation, one of my favorite "go-to"s is to talk about reviews -- that it's so gratifying to see people who have paid <$30 and received hundreds of hours of entertainment. And then I inevitably mention the flip side of the coin, when you receive a negative review from someone with hundreds or more hours (who also paid <$30).
Everyone's entitled to their opinion of a game (or anything else, for that matter), obviously. I do feel that the collective bar has risen quite dramatically for games though (for many totally valid reasons).
Sometimes I (rhetorically) wonder about other forms of entertainment (ie movies), how they can remain viable with such starkly different time-per-dollar value propositions!

I'm sure it happens, and I know the bar for becoming a notary public (official able to notarize documents) isn't that high, but I haven't heard about a ton of fraud where things were falsely notarized. I suppose accessible notarization is a positive thing, at least as long as fraud doesn't become a problem with the system.
To get a remotely apples-to-apples comparison, look at commercial air purification systems -- think devices intended for areas that allows indoor smoking, such as bars/casinos/smoking rooms/etc.
My experience was that a relatively modest 20x20 (x12' high) room requires a massive amount of air movement, and products actually designed for spaces of that size generally run $3-6k or more.
A Corsi-Rosenthal box can delivery very good PM2.5/PM10 numbers, even with challenging environments & when "stretched" to provide purification for an entire home.
PurpleAir or a similar quality AQ monitor provides some very objective data to guide you; I trashed my Levoit purifiers rapidly after realizing just how ineffective (and expensive) they were versus a CR box.
I personally prefer to use two filters on each side, one as a "pre-filter" (cheaper carbon/charcoal, MERV ~10ish), with better (higher MERV, ~13 if possible) rated filters underneath. You can then replace the prefilters more often, but the filters underneath won't require replacement nearly as much.
I wrote about building them with hot glue on my blog[0] -- shameless plug! :)

That said, up to now it's probably provided me with ~ fastest possible drive speeds available for macOS. For business/dev purposes, I really can't complain (except about price & lack of modern Nvidia support - but alas), even though I'm already using M1 Max these days - the single-core speed is just too good.
Speaking from experience... Once, I was so annoyed at a "startup UI"-related dialog taking way (wayyyy) too long to load. I dropped an expletive into Slack and, not much later, I was guided toward fixing my own ~2 year old mistake. We were scanning some "user-generated files" in a way that worked fine but scaled horribly -- the operation went from multiple seconds down to milliseconds. Ugh.
It's an unrealistic & impractical scenario, obviously, but IMO it's more likely they'd want to increase their liabilities (and likely WOULD be able to - lol!) without touching their assets. It's actually an interesting & somewhat comical mind game, even if nothing else.
FWIW, I've no personal position.
It's been a while, but maybe I'll give Frasier another shot, even if only as some quasi-filler. :)
I've actually received emails from two academic professors/teachers (collegiate level) who used the game in some form/fashion, as a tool within their courses.
If anyone has an educational use-case for SimAirport, I'd love to hear about it. I'd also be willing to consider providing "site" licenses, or figuring out a license that would work for you, for any solid educational use-cases -- feel free to contact me directly, email is on profile. :)
