amunozo··on Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash
DeepMind would be a good name for it!
amunozo··on Window Sweaters
Most things we do are lazy and wasteful. For a lot of people writing in a CLI is totally alien.
amunozo··on Launch HN: Momentic (YC W24) – Agents that catch bugs by using your app
What does BYOA mean?
amunozo··on I didn't know I was lacking in Vitamin D until I collapsed at work
Thanks!
amunozo··on I didn't know I was lacking in Vitamin D until I collapsed at work
I usually take them in the winter, but I was curious nevertheless.

Any kind of mushroom?
amunozo··on What we know so far about Spain train crash
A train is not a car. They accelerate and brake very slowly, you need kilometers to brake at high speed, it is impossible to check manually.
amunozo··on Gemini 4 Carbon
It seems more like an Argon 4.1 to me, given the price and the statement that it was trained on Argon 4. Very confusing.
amunozo··on The compiler was supposed to end programming too
It's definitely going to be a socioeconomic shock, but staring at a screen for 8 hours a day is something I won't miss.
amunozo··on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 (Max)
And not only your testing, I have seen that claim a lot of time online. I never tested it, though.
amunozo··on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 (Max)
I still think only privacy is relevant to run on your own infra, never cost.
amunozo··on GLM-Legal
Such a racist point of view. Everywhere outside the Western world, I said, which is clear enough, but you had to add a racist undertone to downplay the rest of the world.
amunozo··on GLM-Legal
Not in the West, but they will be in China and the rest of the world.
amunozo··on “Math 2.0” will need to value mathematical progress more holistically
Either fun or totally random. Unfair but at least cheap.
amunozo··on “Math 2.0” will need to value mathematical progress more holistically
Well, in this case, I think the problem and what should be updated is how grants work. They were stupid before, but now they are even more.
amunozo··on Mistral Large 4
Proportionally to income, Anthropic revenue is two thirds of its expenses, Mistral is a half, and OpenAI a little bit than a half. They aren't that different.
amunozo··on Kolibri is an open-weight LLM from Aleph Alpha for German and English
Sorry, read*, not learn
amunozo··on Kolibri is an open-weight LLM from Aleph Alpha for German and English
I think it means that German speakers can learn the thinking without speaking English.
amunozo··on Kolibri is an open-weight LLM from Aleph Alpha for German and English
Very long words in German are just compounds, made from individual words or morphemes. It is the same as in English if you remove spaces. Subtokens will be equivalent with or without examples.
amunozo··on The Legend of von Neumann (1973) [pdf]
E.g., economics.
amunozo··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
Where in the 48 countries in Asia this is like that? Are you reducing the largest, most populated, and most diverse continent on Earth to a single country?
amunozo··on What California is learning from solar panels built over irrigation canals
The US has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world, so maybe that is not the solution? Sounds easy and direct, but it does not seem to work.
amunozo··on Astra for Law
I understand, thank you so much for the detailed answer.
amunozo··on Astra for Law
Once again, LLMs comes to solve a problem that should not be there in the first place.
amunozo··on Astra for Law
Isn't achieving a rigorous, unique specificarion what civil law tries to achieve? Not that it is a success, but the idea behind it. Sorry if this is a silly question, but this is how I understand it.
amunozo··on I can't stop thinking about Papua New Guinea
I cannot recommend reading this book enough.
amunozo··on I can't stop thinking about Papua New Guinea
This does not make sense I love it. Why State of Origin and not just simply the NRL?
amunozo··on I can't stop thinking about Papua New Guinea
Is this backed by some anthropological real world examples, or are you just extrapolating theories?
amunozo··on Tiny $70 Xteink X3 e-reader
Thanks. I was considering Kobo actually, but my old Kindle still resists.
amunozo··on My Feed, My Way
They are really adictive and engaging, and they trick you into spending more time there. Nobody ever says "let's watch reels for 3h", but here we are.
