antpol··on Expanded Protections for Children
forget about authoritarian regimes committing genocide, think about the children sharing pepe memes with ok signs. There are lots of pitchforks ready to go, and some of them already work withing Apple campus who are writing design docs on how to make Apple ecosystem even more safe

Are you sure the hash function literally called "NeuralMatch" running on the device with 2+ gen of AI capable chips won't have "collisions"?
antpol··on Apple’s new abuse prevention system: an antritust/competition point of view
Your iphone is already capable to identify nude minors in near real time. Is it really that far-fetched that SWAT team gets triggered into action when iphone detects minor abuse?

"it would be a shame if AppleTV+ won't get license extension for that popular <insert label/studio> show, isn't it"

antpol··on Video game developers at Activision Blizzard say they'll walk out Wednesday
when you get to a point of getting a car collection, you don't spend you start to invest in car collection, hence why you shift buying preferences to exotics with good track record of appreciating in value and simply lease everything else
antpol··on Video game developers at Activision Blizzard say they'll walk out Wednesday
This is quite a stretch to start connecting "love of your neighbor" to fascism. Now I start to understand the shift of Coinbase and Basecamp no politics policies. You can't win these games
antpol··on How Basecamp Blew Up
If you start calling modern social justice issues with a term without that historical "baggage", then it would quickly be dismissed as [first world problem](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=First%20Worl...)
antpol··on “About one-third of Basecamp employees accepted buyouts today”
you still need to consider that lots of people would judge you by how you upkeep things in any present moment. Sure, you can be a genius scientist in the stat of "flow", but recognition would come only later if that's the case
antpol··on The California Exception
so which elite-minority do we pick then, philosophically speaking?
antpol··on Cryptocurreny crime is way ahead of regulators and law enforcement
let's consider an example. Better to do this experiment on popular social media platforms for US audience.

Consider gun related crimes in Australia before gun buy backs ("bad rate") and gun related crimes in post. You would have a solid number of averted deaths and injuries.

Now let's wait for thoughtful opinions from US users regarding the topic of gun regulation :)

You could still buy original Aeron from dot com era. Got myself 2002 model last year in close to pristine condition, only armrest needed to be replaced due wear

As far as I know University of California system makes a good revenue on the IP they created

Juul is making the vapor device though. The user is free to charge it with whatever liquid he/she desires

Historically big tech companies are treating their LGBTQ+ folks the best in comparison with any other industry though

I guess it’s not enough

But the owners of websites want to show these google ads to you. Who is in control of content: the viewers or creators/hosters?
antpol··on JetBrains: $270M revenue, 405K paying users, $0 raised
It's matter, because even in this thread you have people prizing jetbrains for beign better than Adobe SaaS, but in reality jetbrains would go even futher than any big predatory corporation out there to vendor lock you into their set of tools.

If you have an option, stick with open tools with strong community support. Just observation: with commercial tools you don't have full control of your own work, nuff said

antpol··on JetBrains: $270M revenue, 405K paying users, $0 raised
You can frame it whatever you want. Fact is, if not the pushback JetBrains would be worse than Adobe
antpol··on JetBrains: $270M revenue, 405K paying users, $0 raised
Oh, I remember that pushback. Glorious days of outrage culture when it wasn't abused yet and the consumer power was strong
antpol··on Google Fires Four Workers, Including Staffer Tied to Protest
Google has one of the best workspace conditions out there though
antpol··on Google Fires Four Workers, Including Staffer Tied to Protest
Yes, and users voluntarily agree for said “big brother watching you” dystopia to get free mailbox, maps app and free photos backups

Nobody signed up for their coworkers monitoring your calendar and then you find you beign doxed externally. Company investigated, gave out warnings, and yet the hostile behavior continued and here is the result

antpol··on Google Fires Four Workers, Including Staffer Tied to Protest
If you are periodically checking coworkers manually and then said coworkers got doxed externally you would be in the same troubles with the company for creating hostile workplace
antpol··on Google Fires Four Workers, Including Staffer Tied to Protest
The issue here is not about the feature or existing possibility here. The issue is about people being followed and then they were doxed. This is creating a hostile workplace. Google makes investigation, gives out warnings, bad behavior continues, result is inevitable

Unionizing and protest organizing is just a background noise at this point

antpol··on Google Fires Four Workers, Including Staffer Tied to Protest
That is ok usage, but in the discussed case we already know that people followed were later doxed not called to discuss unions. Big difference

antpol··on Black Hat Talk About ‘Time AI’ Causes Uproar, Is Deleted by Conference
There is a fundamental issue here. Some people (with understanding of 101 stats) see the results of 12/8 of false/true outcomes and read it as a confirmation of null hypothesis - 50%/50% of guessing the cord.

Some other people, however, see it as 8/20 you can hear the inferior product, they think that they are not peasants to get 8/20 feeling of inferior product, so shut up and take my money, cause $900 cable will guarantee 0/20 of hearing bad cable, totally worth it. nuff said
