arankine··on Create system diagrams with Go
It's an implementation of the functional option pattern used a lot in go code. See https://dave.cheney.net/2014/10/17/functional-options-for-fr... for a rundown.
arankine··on Using Askgit – A SQL interface to your Git repository
There is OSQuery (https://osquery.io/)!
arankine··on Traduora is now open source
Absolutely not true that this is niche. Almost all international online saas or stores have embedded translation and copy teams.

We had 4 hours of night in the highlands and that was hard to sleep through.
arankine··on Stuff in Space

I was actually at this podcast recording (its great by the way, check it out). It was the most human discussion I've heard for a long time. I remember moving from 6502 to mips. Had to build a calculator for compsci. I rewrote the multiply instruction, didnt even consider it would be there in mips. 6502 was my first assembly, and i hold it dear to my heart :)
arankine··on Instagram Asking For Your Government Issued Photo IDs Now, Too
Conscience offsetting.
arankine··on Mega has launched
This is exactly how megaupload used to work. They use file hashes, i heard reports of some hash collisions meaning entirely different files were identified as duplicates...that was gamed though i believe, real life collisions less likely
arankine··on Power surges in Britain caused by millions of people making tea [video]
Back in high school, i visited the JET nuclear fusion project in Oxfordshire, they told us that they have to plan fusion experiments so they don't coincide with the end or commercial break of a soap, due to the tokamak requiring (i can't remember the exact figure) ~1 - 5% of the national grid's output.
