archleaf··on An Activity Feed for One
Cool project. The heatmap is a nice visualization. It looks like you there's more activity as time goes on. Is that because you are biasing towards using more sources that show up? Or is it that you can just pull more recent data?

In other words, does measuring the thing, change the thing :)?

archleaf··on Show HN: Privacy policy generator for AI apps (LLM disclosure, EU AI Act)
Thanks! Is this intended to be a complete solution or just a starting point for a policy?
archleaf··on Show HN: Classic Minesweeper
Control click would also be a good addition. Otherwise I keep losing!
archleaf··on Reddit Tests Blocking Mobile Web to Force App Downloads
The dominos continue to fall. It seems like the line keeps moving further and further away from what's best for users.

Before some of these companies would listen, but will they now?

What's the best way to show our disagreement?

archleaf··on Prayer-Driven Development
I recently attended a talk about a related topic--how to decide on the right level of autonomy for an agent. https://github.com/jeff52415/architecting-agentic-systems-sl...

Just to be clear, this isn't my talk. I just noticed some similarities with the linked story.

We should be able to find something that was missed!

Did you let any LLMs search this?

archleaf··on Show HN: Reducing LLM input tokens by 70%
Nice idea. Can I choose a strategy for token reduction, based on what I'm optimzing for? I might be ok with a quality drop for a great cost savings, for example.
archleaf··on Show HN: Rate and Review Recruiters
Should definitely seed with recruiters in Japan. It's still a huge part of finding a job there. Robert Walters, Robert Half, Hays and more.

Also, is this intended for individual recruiters as well or just agencies?

Can you add a specific rating around if they respect your time? Don't think we need a 30 min call for you to finally reveal the role to me!

archleaf··on I'm going back to writing code by hand
So what you really mean is you are going to do better and more detailed skills files so you can get an architecture that you've thought through rather than something random?
archleaf··on Show HN: Countries where you can leave your MacBook at a random coffee shop
I think poster means a local area, not a locally-owned coffee shop. Meaning in NYC it doesn't matter if it's a Starbucks or Locally owned shop, you still wouldn't leave the laptop.

However, if it's a local coffee shop in the middle of Nebraska, you would be ok.

archleaf··on Show HN: Countries where you can leave your MacBook at a random coffee shop
Was this in Shibuya? Maybe there or Roppongi, but most other places aren't really a worry.
archleaf··on The Las Vegas Sphere Looked Like a Disaster. It's Become a Huge Hit Instead.
Do you think there's staying power here or it's just novelty still?
archleaf··on Show HN: DashResume, a resume builder with ATS scoring, and AI job desc matching
This is a nicely polished product. Seems like there was good attention to detail. You could add a bit more value before requiring upgrade. I'm not sure what jobs I'll see or how it will match if I upgrade. If I pay and get matches I don't like, that's going to be a bad experience. Suggest some preview of what the matches would be like.
archleaf··on Poland is now among the 20 largest economies
Is this something new within the last year? I just travelled on Flixbus across Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland and received no checks.

Is it only certain countries?

archleaf··on Show HN: Blamo A vibecoded app for vibecoding vibe games
Haggling for bessie was fun: https://www.blamo.ai/vibes/79469cec-44fb-4ccd-bc32-d159794ce...

It's cool you can make a text-based game also.

archleaf··on Show HN: Dreamwork – a job search site I made after Indeed fired my pregnant wif
I used to work at Indeed and support your spite! A few comments: - the term pack isn't common so you might need to explain or try some other term - Radar chart is a nice visual - Overall visuals are interesting. What are your thoughts on showing the resume so much on the search page? I would imagine the first impression is cool, but after that practically it takes up a lot of space.

Overall, it's an interesting concept for sure. I'll give it more usage and report back.

archleaf··on MapTap: Daily Geography Game
This is kind of fun! When I zoom in it's very pixelated. The geographic formations will help pick a place but it's blurry to see them when I zoom closely.
archleaf··on Show HN: Daily AI-guessed odds of an Iran peace deal, vs. oil/gas prices
So do you think it's making the prediction only on oil prices and not much else?
archleaf··on RSS feeds send me more traffic than Google
Do you get attribution from the content they show from your sites at all? Did you notice more direct traffic by any chance?
archleaf··on The Informal Org Chart
Do you have any techniques for mapping this out? I wonder if some of the internal AI tools now will help with this.
archleaf··on LinkedIn profile visitor lists belong to the people, says Noyb
Wouldn't this apply to every social network? Or is this because LinkedIn shows a teaser for free and more detail for paid?
