I guess 'walk in' refers to being outside

So Linux is now a first class citizen on both Windows and Mac? I guess it really is true that 'if you can't beat em, join em.' Jobs must be rolling in his grave.
But for those businesses that actually review resumes, it's gotta be brutal.

Users think they want a lot of things they don't really need. Do we really want to hand users that loaded gun so that they can choose incorrectly where to fire?
I have to wonder if this is in response to the lawsuit from WP Engine over being banned, in a "fine, I'll unban everyone and we'll see how much you like it then" way.

E: I can't even load the fly.dev website, it keeps timing out. I guess they forgot to pre-provision/under-provisioned it
At some point, perhaps you're just doing too much
If high quality closed off codebases were used in training, would we see an improvement in LLM quality for more complex use cases?
Give me a forum (even Discourse will do) , I'm tired of needing 3rd party spyware to interact with developers. That it is all closed off from search engines makes it even worse
He's an unrepentant scammer who should be taken seriously by nobody, and yet he has the favor of the second highest court in Britain. He doesn't care about the fallout of his demands, he just wants to enrich himself.
I can think of 3 good reasons:
1. Businesses don't want to remember a bunch of addresses and who sent what where. Even if it's dropped off at a central lot, you'd still need to arrange further transportation from the lot since a lot of the equipment is broken, doesn't even have tires, or is otherwise not street-legal.
2. Diesel mechanics don't usually work on consumer diesel engines - this is heavy equipment. These shops tend to be located along highways for a reason - they need the wide berths highways provide. You'll have trouble fitting a lot of this equipment in your driveway, much less your garage.
3. The shop insurance situation would be a nightmare.
The problem with this, of course, is that it runs counter to the continuous consumption much of this industry has been built upon. Apple could probably pull it off if they wanted, given their ability to curb stomp companies into compliance, but they would have to actually want to do it and resist the constant stream of investors asking "why not increase upselling opportunities in the CarPlay UI?"
Much the same way that vinyl records are back in vogue, I wouldn't be surprised if someday some luxury car brands started advertising physical controls for minimal distractions someday, given the direction the entire automotive industry seems to be headed. Hopefully my old Toyota will keep on chugging until we see a physical resurgence, I can't stand the way automakers are trying to shove everything onto a single screen to cut costs.
Also, that's audiobooks, not iBooks.
Perhaps the falling salaries for programming in the US could be a good thing in that regard. So many people get into this career because they want to make it big, which seems to drive down the quality of the talent pool.
