I'm just this guy, you know?

arnemart··on mdp – A command-line based markdown presentation tool
There's also http://github.com/arnemart/slid.js (disclosure: I wrote this)

No fancy transitions, but does not need ncurses and supports syntax highlighting and images.

arnemart··on React vs. Ember – EmberNYC slides
This can be avoided by just not using JSX. The React DOM API is not really that hard to use.
arnemart··on The Command-Line Office
Very nice! I have made one as well[1], it is based on Markdown and not nearly as fancy.

arnemart··on Google will make it easy for strangers to email you
Mostly it's just annoying.
arnemart··on Can a Jellyfish Unlock the Secret of Immortality?
"Will Betteridge's law be mentioned if this headline is submitted to Hacker News?"
arnemart··on Making MathBox: Presentation-Quality Math with Three.js and WebGL
Stevens talk at Full Frontal was absolutely fantastic, one of the best I have ever seen. I highly recommend watching the video once it comes out. It is very impressive to see such complex topics being presented with such ease and style.

arnemart··on 4 min Emacs screencast inspired by Bret Victor's Inventing on Principle
This was done as a lightning talk the night before the Web Rebels conference in Oslo in May. I was there, and Magnar completely killed it. Awesome stuff.
arnemart··on WYSIHTML5: A better approach to rich text editing
That sounds very promising. Do you have a time frame for this release?
arnemart··on CSS3 Rainbow Dividers
Yes, it works beautifully* on iOS5.

* For a given value of “beautiful”

arnemart··on Profit Profit Profit
Well, it IS Michael Arrington he's talking about.
arnemart··on Webdesigners: please make text readable
Yes, a thousand times yes. Even worse are those who use

    -webkit-text-stroke: 1px transparent;
which absolutely _kills_ scrolling performance.
arnemart··on Boilerplate for Responsive, Mobile-Friendly Development
This is pretty, but I really think the grid should be fluid, and not just jump between states.
arnemart··on Why GNU grep is fast
Textmate users should absolutely check out AckMate (https://github.com/protocool/AckMate), which runs circles around "find in project".
arnemart··on New Chrome extension: block sites from Google’s web search results
Experts Exchange.
arnemart··on New Chrome extension: block sites from Google’s web search results
The website used as an example in the first screenshot (http://thecontentfarm.tumblr.com/) just made my day.
arnemart··on Impossible for the HN crowd: Do nothing for 2 minutes
I opened the page in a tab in the background, and when I got around to viewing it I had already won. That was easy.
arnemart··on Best Website Designs of 2010
"Showcasing 65 of the Best Website Designs of 2010"

I pretty much stopped reading and closed the tab after that. Seriously, 65?

arnemart··on A virus could increase lithium batteries capacity by 10x
There seems to be news about new and revolutionary battery technologies that will increase capacity N-fold every few weeks. I have more or less stopped reading about this, as none of the ideas ever seem to make it to the market. I prefer to be ignorant of emerging battery tech, and would rather be pleasantly surprised if anything of this actually turns into a product :-)
arnemart··on I always forget the argument order of the `ln -s` command
Same here. lns is always one of the first things I install on a new system.
arnemart··on Ymacs -- An Emacs-like editor for the Web
My first thought was "Whymacs?" but this is actually pretty cool. Shame I've never gotten around to learning emacs.
arnemart··on How can you program if you're blind?
Amazing. It's really hard to imagine programming blind and jumping between methods/files/debuggers/browsers effectively, but it seems some people do pull it off.

I was struggling with tendonitis in my right arm a year back and had to do all my coding left-handed, and that made me feel crippled and annoyingly slow. It's really impressive what people can overcome.

arnemart··on Sculley: Apple’s Big Mistake Was Hiring Me As CEO
NeXT stopped making hardware a few years before Apple bought them, and was renamed "NeXT Software Inc".
