asmman1··on What "viable search engine competition" really looks like
Imagine if Microsoft begins saving users' information using its operating system. As result they got more information on you even than Google or anyone else.
asmman1··on Why do most programming languages only return a single value from a function?
Generalizing, there's really a math relation but it's most because the language designer wanted this. Nobody wanted to add this feature (not so trivial to a compiler) if they just could return a struct.
asmman1··on Show HN: Vector - A High-Level Programming Language for GPU Computing
I don't get you. Is not C high-level?
asmman1··on Developer and Power Users Tool List for Windows
Woow. What a great tool for some editing. I didn't knew about before, now I got installed and I'm removing notepad++ in favor of it. Thanks!
asmman1··on Letter From A Psychopath
So, you're saying big businessman like Warren buffett are too?
asmman1··on Go 1.3+ Compiler Overhaul
Well, "attract more contributors if it is written in Go" I think that it isn't the point really. In fact, I think it's more easier if you're using C than or even C++. The question about C it's much error-prone language which would make development slow than using a more modern language with the C string and malloc()s pain. Not mentioned that it's cool a Go compiler written in Go and C# compiler written in C# :)
asmman1··on PS4's LLVM-based Developer Toolchain [pdf]
What was used before? gcc?
asmman1··on The end of the Facebook era
Who cares about Facebook "era".
asmman1··on Google is the new Bell Labs
He said something very similar about Bill Gates/Microsoft. But I can't recall exactly what.
asmman1··on Google is the new Bell Labs
Don't forget to Clang.
asmman1··on Google is the new Bell Labs
Very interesting article I think. But I think that says Google is the new Bell Labs is a bit exaggeration. While Bell Labs did most of its inventions from scratch and with a lot of search, what Google do in most part of its products is improvement of existing ones. And no, I'm not a Google hater.
asmman1··on TCP HTTP Server written in Assembly
You're right. Real men don't use Assembly, too, but do use binary instead of. :)
asmman1··on BASH as a Modern Programming Language [ppt]
Moderna bash/shell language? check out Window's Power Shell [1]. The one shell scripting language what I would use and the only of its type that its syntax don't scare me...

asmman1··on Bill Gates: Top books to read
Great list! Also, I loved the favobooks.com web site. It's in my browser's favorites pages.
asmman1··on Great Books on Science and Innovation
Great list. LOL: Some comments in the Gates' page are very funny.
asmman1··on Poll: Which platforms do you develop for?
It's impressive really: Linux has(almost) more votes than Windows + Android together
asmman1··on Poll: Which platforms do you develop for?
I'm just curious, which type of application are you developing for Minix?
asmman1··on Torvalds: SteamOS will "really help" Linux on desktop
Show me how to install it?
asmman1··on If C++ is so bad, what should game developers use?
C++ is not so bad, not at all. You could to use it on game development; but I recommend you look at D language someday (not so far away)... answering the second question, they aren't good canditates to such a job.
asmman1··on Torvalds: SteamOS will "really help" Linux on desktop
It makes me wonder how different is this one from the dozen of Linux distributions around. Will this one solve any of the followings problems? if so, it's a very good start.

Linux is hard to use on day-day. Even you chose the most friendly distribution (like Ubuntu) Almost nothing works in the first try to install. Look, I failed to get the newly gcc version (I really want it) because I need to compile from source code and a lot of libs is missing from my system and when I try to install others lot of libs is missing too. It's get in looping. I got the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio in just one second. Where can I get something better? Also, nowdays everybody is switching to a XBOX/PS4 etc and no longer do much play on PC. I don't have numbers, but I can seen it's changing a lot. It shouldn't decrease, just unlike, it means in a future (very close) playing big games on PC is almost dead. Why should someone invest time and money in something going to no longer exists? PC is something that the peoples will continues to have to work and browser on internet, if not on your smartphone/tablet.

asmman1··on Ask HN: What's a good resource for a 9 year old to learn programming?
Look at Microsoft smallbasic http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/devlabs/cc950524.aspx
asmman1··on Ask HN: Do rich kids learn programming?
I'm very curious if Gates'/Ellison's/Allen's sons (or any of this guys that made fortune with computer programming/software) know about computer programming. Sometime ago I've read (a sorry, but I don't remember where) that Gates' sons could to use the computer about two hour per day only.
asmman1··on Poll: Who will be the next Microsoft CEO?
Does someone really believe that can Bill Gates back to be Microsoft CEO?
