bardonadam··on Show HN: I built BodyCount to get an accurate 'number'
I've been told women care about their body count because they don't want to go over a certain arbitrary number, which is fair. That number will be inherently low so there's no need to track it.

As a guy, I don't have a limit but since I'm not chasing everything that walks, I don't really care about my number either. Having an actual list, seems like something a sociopath would do...

bardonadam··on Study finds using Night Shift doesn’t improve sleep
> I keep a deep orange filter on my monitor all the time

I've also started doing this recently and it helps a lot. The only time where it's a problem is when working with design/photography obviously. It's not a pleasant surprise when I turn it off and realize that colors are not that great.

bardonadam··on Setting up a Raspberry Pi 4 home server
I got my first NAS last summer, Synology DS218+ and I'm very happy with it. The Plex server works on it flawlessly.

bardonadam··on PiHole-Google: Completely Block Google and Its Services
I don't have any intention to do a construction work any time soon, but those are some very useful tips and I enjoyed the video. Thank you!
bardonadam··on Ask HN: What do you do with your Raspberry Pi?
Love the sitcom sound thing!
bardonadam··on Show HN: Tool to Convert Lightroom Presets to Adobe Camera Raw
There's a ton of great Lightroom presets out there, and I've wanted to use them to edit my photos, however I don't have a Lightroom, only some slightly older version of Photoshop.

So I made this tool to convert Lightroom presets(.lrtemplate) to Adobe Camera Raw (.xmp). This way I can use them in Photoshop.

bardonadam··on Cutting your salary by 40%
Props for standing up for yourself and not letting them use you without proper compensation. I'm sure you'll be better off somewhere else, where they actually value your personal life & free time.

bardonadam··on Ask HN: What's your working day like?
SW Engineer as well. Office can get noisy quite quickly, so I wouldn't be able to focus without headphones and Spotify. If music distracts you(vocals are the main suspect), try some ambient noises, or movie soundtracks(Hans Zimmer, John Williams). Also a comfortable pair of headphones is preferable.

bardonadam··on 7 Algorithms That Rule the World
True. With exponentially growing computing power, many cryptographic algorithms will be at risk. Everything evolves with time. Commonly used compression algorithms like JPEG or MP3 are starting to being obsolete as well. So what I put in the list are algorithms that put crucial fundaments for computing world.

But anyway, it's a matter of opinion. 10 people could come up with 10 different lists.

Thanks for your feedback. I mentioned at the end of video that this list is not comprehensive and there are many more... maybe I should put it also into description.
