bchar··on Making IRC better
IRCCloud does much of this.
bchar··on Creating Languages in Racket (2011)
I've used this, for neovim, and it's very good! https://conjure.fun/

Works with Clojure, Racket, Fennel and Janet.

Right up until you hit the 10,000 song limit, which took me all of a couple months to reach. It's not a service built for music enthusiasts.
bchar··on Dwarf Fortress 0.42.01 released
The gameplay hasn't really "changed" much at all since its first release, it just keeps getting deeper and deeper (something something z-axis joke), so I don't really understand this complaint. It's the best interactive lore generator ever conceived and this release only adds to that.
bchar··on 8-bit GIFs of Japanese life
I think Cave Story might be an inspiration for some of these.
bchar··on The worst thing about CoffeeScript
"- I can write `foo.bar baz, bat` but if I call it with no arguments I have to use parens. `for.bar` will just return the function. I understand why it's the case, but it sucks."

Interestingly, if you write "do foo.bar" you don't need to use parens and it will work as expected. I think this is a bit more idiomatic.

bchar··on Dung Beetles Navigate Via the Milky Way, First Known in Animal Kingdom
The last bit gave me a chuckle:

> As for the beetles themselves, they were “very easy to work with,” he added. “You can do anything you want to them, and they just keep on rolling.”

bchar··on Ghost 0.3 (Kerouac) Launches
From the link: "In a couple of weeks, once we've ironed some bugs, smoothed some edges, and given those people a chance to try Ghost out... we'll be opening up Ghost to the public. The Github repository will go public, and everyone will be able to sign up for an account on Ghost.org."
bchar··on Google Reader Founder: I Never Would Have Founded Reader Inside Today's Google
I don't know about your circle of friends, but my link-sharing friends get their material from a RSS reader.
bchar··on Show HN: Nuuton UI demo. Give me your feedback.
Not especially keen on the color scheme, I guess. I don't have much of an opinion on the rest of the layout, unfortunately. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
bchar··on Google ToS rated: “keeps your searches and logs for an undefined period of time”
IP address seems incredibly unreliable in this regard. What exactly is to be gained by associating it with an IP? If a company uses one external IP, are all my searches altered/bubbled by what everybody else in the company is querying?
bchar··on Chunk Host Offering Free Hosting
Also requires a Facebook account, so I guess it sucks to be me.

Bonus points for a nice, mobile optimized, interface. Great site, thanks for sharing.
