berodamon Internet Slang Meets American Sign Language

I wonder if we will start seeing companies coming up with their official signs? I guess that should be happening already.

berodamon Manacher's Algorithm – Longest Palindromic Substring

I've seen it used in an application that manages DNA plasmid data, it could be useful in a lot of genomic analysis tools.

berodamon Bash Keyboard Shortcuts Stickers

Looks cool, but I'm afraid it would not work very well on my ThinkPad

berodamon Without even knowing: the HN post I missed

I actually built something similar idea wise just because it seemed like a fun project to play with (http://roofmapper.com). However my implementation was very simplistic in comparison.

berodamon C++ Grandmaster Certification

There is a thread on Stack Overflow that has a pretty good list http://stackoverflow.com/questions/388242/the-definitive-c-b... I'm currently working my way through Accelerated C++ and I'm finding it to be an excellent resource

berodamon Show HN: Roofmapper, simple way to map roofs. My first webapp

Yeah, I probably should have gave it a bit of explanation.

This was actually made for my dad. He is a roofer and needed a quick and dirty way of generating a map of a place. The map can then be printed and to mark locations of leaks and other such information. Getting screenshot straight from google maps etc. was one option, but I feel that my way makes it cleaner and easier to pinpoint exact locations.

berodamon Show HN: My first webapp. Yikes! Read and Post Stories anonymously

The color of the large top banner is killing my eyes but otherwise it seems to work as intended. Did you seed the stories yourself or did you get some actual users to write them?

berodamon The Ugly Side of Learning to Code

This article hits really close to home. After graduating college and getting a job in biotech I quickly realized that I don't want to spend next 30years in front of a lab bench, dealing with FDA etc. so I have been learning to code. starting with Django (i knew some Python beforehand) then I realized I need some javascript, jQuery, git, MySQL. The only difference is that I love it. Each technology provides something that blows my mind. My experiment started in May and is going while I'm holding on to my lab job. By October I hope to have a portfolio going, I have two apps ready. I really hope it will all pan out.
