Now, the argument I find the most interesting in the case for using the bomb is public, and national and international political opinion. It is arguable that Truman saw very little options other than use the bomb at the time. They had spent millions on the project, politicians knew that something was being developed, and the Cold War was already on the horizon. Further if not used, and the existence of the bomb post war would come to light for the public, there might well be questions as to why it wasn't dropped, and, exactly the line you used, if it could have ended the war early.
Ultimately, I think a combination of international clout spun into national pride in total victory sealed the decision (although this conclusion was probably made by FDR before him as well). I will say, that the post-Hiroshima speech by Truman is also one of the most powerful speeches by a US president ever made.
> It is a harnessing of the basic power of the universe. The force from which the sun draws its power has been loosed against those who brought war to the Far East.
Cheese is a whole other kettle of fish, they're all awful.

This is now a compounding issue, the tool that uses Corba was initially quite standalone but managers started pushing the tool as an interface to the embedded system I actually work on, this has resulted in more tools utilising Corba.
I would argue this is a symptom of the money men exerting too much control over entertainment. Everything has to be safe and neutered, every investment has to be as sure as possible. This isn't down to writers, there's interesting writing going on, you just won't see it come out of the big studios unless it's a smaller subsidiary.
Note: typo corrected.

This space between low budget and medium budget was, for a little while, nearly non-existent. With these budgets, you don't have to be that successful to get your investment in the black. It allows you to make riskier films, and there is clearly a market for films of depth and creativity. It boggles the mind that Halloween Ends required more budget (I assume it's mostly marketing) than Everything Everywhere All at Once, it's just about a guy killing people, in fairness one of those people was Jamie Lee Curtis.
I deleted facebook years ago for the same reason, but I convinced myself that reddit was different in some capacity, and it is in ways, but after one too many evenings of looking at "Nothing", I'm happy I've kicked it to the curb. Even at work now, I have a ublock rule to block reddit. Occasionally, I find the need to temporarily allow it due to searches on a particular topic, but it's gone as a pastime.
I've also got a stupid one: a mouse waggler. My work enforces screen lock times to be 5 minutes, and I have two computers, one on an air gapped network. So when development happened in the air gapped PC, and I inevitably had to look up docs for something, I would always be prompted for my password. So, I made a program that nudged my mouse just slightly every five minutes. That has essentially turned into my Windows API test bed. Someone will ask, how hard will it be to implement X for Windows? I'll try and find a use for it in this waggler, and look how to implement it.
This has also lead to the waggler part being obsoleted by one function call:
SetThreadExecutionState(ES_CONTINUOUS | ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED);
It's now a full GUI program with all sorts of timers and reminder things, it also happens to keep my screen on.
