bjf··on Calling All Hackers: Help Us Build an Open Wireless Router
I'm missing something here. How are the security concerns of open networks being addressed? Why should I trust an open access point?

Is using a service like privnote a plausible way to communicate privately? According to the privacy policy, at no time is any note held in any readable format state on their servers. Also each message 'self destructs' after being opened one time.
bjf··on You're Distracted. This Professor Can Help
> It shouldn't be so surprising that an ability to concentrate is a skill that can be improved, and that the best way to improve a skill is to directly practice it!

This is an important point that I feel many students do not understand. In my experience most people view focusing as a natural ability that you either have or you don't. I agree that one can be predisposed to getting distracted, but as with many predispositions, it can be overcome with some effort.
