I saw a Waymo in Seattle, today. If Waymo can get Seattle right, that gives me a lot of confidence that their stack is very capable of difficult road conditions.

Note: I have not had the pleasure of riding in one yet, but from what my friend in SJ says, it’s very convenient and confidence-inspiring.

ok now is my chance.

what is this (opens new tab) phenomenon?!

Yea, the story is still interesting, how they chose that path. Highly recommend watching the link i provided.

Air BNB

Started as a tool for renting rooms in cities during conferences, where hosts were expected to provide no more than an air mattress.

Pivoted to full on house renting.

Chesky talks about it all here in the blitzscaling series, an interview series conducted by Reid Hoffman:

Yea you know its cute to be okay with people having opposing opinions.

But when one is supported by science, and the other by good will, and the possibility is life and death, I draw a harder line.
