brooklyndude··on Autopsy-based characterization of myocarditis after anti-SARS-CoV-2-vaccination
> As long as vaccine side effects cause less deaths and less harm than the virus, vaccination is still the way to go.

That's not how medicine works. What would be your opinion if you were the one that was going to die? Would you still stick by your statement?

The issue is NO ONE told anyone this data. It was "suppressed" to PREVENT "vaccination hesitancy", that's the issue.

brooklyndude··on Autopsy-based characterization of myocarditis after anti-SARS-CoV-2-vaccination
We knew this over a year ago, but it's called "acceptable risk" by the CDC. The thing is they never told us that. But it was on that document you signed when you took your jab.

You read the fine print right?

Moderna had "This is an EXPERIMENTAL VACCINE" on all thier media until not that long ago, and then they just removed that warning. We don't even have clinical trials any more.

Those Moderna shareholders are rough, once a week jab was the goal. That booster. Much upset there, when that did not go through.

They tried to push "your dog, cats, all your pets WILL need a shot!" That did not get much traction, remember that news?

Shareholders bailed. Lets all short TSLA was their next move. How markets work.

brooklyndude··on Our conscious experience of the world is a memory, says new theory
Ibogaine. A movie screen opens in your mind and every memory since birth is re/played. So they say. Authors may want to look into that one.

brooklyndude··on Effect of Colonoscopy Screening on Risks of Colorectal Cancer and Related Death
I’m unique guess in the world. We’re all going to die. If you make it to 57, awesome. After that it’s all a bonus. Take that attitude, and you really don’t put off much. You don’t turn down any invites. And do wake up with the Sun. Life is awesome!

Don’t be so afraid of death. It’s not that bad. Really.

Source: survived an NDE. Was not my time was told, but did get a great tour of the afterlife. Don’t worry so much.

And treat strangers with kindness, they were very insistent on that. They keep score. Heaven or Hell. It’s your decision.

:-)

brooklyndude··on Reality is just a game now
Missed the most obvious outcome. We are in a VR simulation. We see more “clues” everyday.

Now how to work within the VR world handed to us. That’s the next steps. Soon to become apparent I’m sure.

brooklyndude··on The Portuguese can no longer afford to live in Portugal
The Ex/Pat group on FB for Portugal is massive.

All day long: we’re moving to Portugal from the USA!

Tell us more!

Yipes! :-)

brooklyndude··on Owsley Stanley: The King of LSD (2011)
Steve Jobs may have had an issue with that one. He seemed to do OK. :-)

Taking LSD was a profound experience, one of the most important things in my life. LSD shows you that there’s another side to the coin, and you can’t remember it when it wears off, but you know it. It reinforced my sense of what was important—creating great things instead of making money, putting things back into the stream of history and of human consciousness as much as I could.

Steve Jobs

brooklyndude··on Owsley Stanley: The King of LSD (2011)
An amazing story. Had no idea. Worth a read if into “sound” and how the Dead re/invented it.
brooklyndude··on The Not-So-Special Relationship
In the end? In the USA, you get that chance to fail. Actually it’s an honor.

Rest of the world? You don’t even get that chance, the chance to fail.

So my EU friends tell me now working 100 hour weeks? Just to get that chance, to fail.

brooklyndude··on Falling five storeys from a New York rooftop changed my life
You are seen everyday by a team of MDs if in a NYC hospital. I have been in a very similar situation, yes one of those “it’s a miracle you are alive” scenarios. I was run over by a truck. There are morning rounds, EVERY patient is seen. Everyone.

MDs just don’t “stop coming by”, this is an absurd statement.

> As my discharge date approached, the occupational therapists stopped coming by and so did the doctors. After a week in the hospital, the staff were ready for me to leave, and I was, too.

brooklyndude··on Falling five storeys from a New York rooftop changed my life
I have worked with with healthcare professionals for decades, have never once met seen an MD or nurse take pleasure in seeing a patient in pain. I’ve interviewed over 10,000 people to date.

We live in two different computer simulations I guess.

brooklyndude··on The magic of mushrooms forces us to rethink what intelligence means
It’s mushroom mania. I’m assuming they are running the show at the moment. Yes, your next boss may be a neural mushroom network.
brooklyndude··on Robinhood Accounts Looted, No Customer Support
As someone who has been trading for decades, I’m stunned the SEC has not shut them down. Zero phone support.

On a scale from 1-100. Support is a 0 for Robinhood. Ameritrade? I give them a 100+. They are amazing. And TOS trading platform is awesome.

Sure keep a few $$$s in RH and enjoy the confetti, but for larger accounts, I would NOT be using RH.

brooklyndude··on Citi’s $900M Misfire Happened During Software Switch
I worked at Citi for a very short time way back when. We were doing some things I thought were a bit “sketchy”, and was wondering if we were breaking the law.

The response from my boss: we’re only breaking the law if we get caught, so theoretically we’re not actually breaking the law since no one has “caught us.”

Guess there was some logic there. Of course this was a very long time ago. And sure they follow those pesky banking rules now , never, ever “breaking the law.”

brooklyndude··on Altucher: NYC Is Dead Forever
He’s not some random guy.
brooklyndude··on Altucher: NYC Is Dead Forever
Soho is packed with outdoor diners.

I went from phone call to CT Scan in 17 mins at NYP hospital.

Museums open August 24.

Whole Food delivers to my front door. Your local herb friend probably does too. And how many Apple Stores?

Got my new NYC lease. Landlord raised the rent. Guess he’s not buying the doom and gloom?

NYC will do just fine. We’ll figure it out.

:-)

brooklyndude··on Uber CEO says its service will probably shut down temporarily in California
Just an update from an old guy.

From my favorite capitalist, an oil futures trader on WS:

Between 9:30-4:00 I’d kill my own mother to make a dime a trade. Kill my own fucking mother.

Do we seriously think Uber would not slash wages to shit, deny healthcare, work drivers till they dropped, and then killed someone’s mother if they could make a dime and get away with it?

People seriously believe they would not do that unless someone (AKA The State) does not stop them?

I’ve worked in corporate America, they would kill you for a nickel if it could lift their stock price.

Welcome to the “system.” Now back to work!

Your boss has their eye on a new house. And YOU are going make sure they have that downpayment. :-)

brooklyndude··on Progress of anti-aging therapies by clinical trial stage
You will get old. You will die. Just face reality. This trying to always put off aging is hopeless. Utterly futile. Enjoy every day, don't waste a second.

You will die. And you ain't ready for it. But Mother nature is.

brooklyndude··on ‘Uncanny Valley’ Charts a Tech Pilgrim’s Progress
When the NYTs says, "this is an extraordinary book", generally worth a read if you are in the biz.

"Only later does she realize that her empathetic impulses may have led her astray. She was so fixated on trying to discern what motivated people that she lost sight of the vast, exceedingly powerful system she was participating in, and what the system was doing — not just to her, but to everybody."

brooklyndude··on Breast cancer detection in mammography using deep learning approach

brooklyndude··on Americans are retiring to Vietnam
I ate everything that I saw in Vietnam. Street food, restaurant food, food down dark allies. For months. Only had ONE single issue. For an hour. That's it.

There may be something more going on here?

brooklyndude··on Ram Dass has died
It's fascinating to me, how this demographics on HN is really generally clueless (except with a few exceptions), have NO CLUE to what happened in the 60's clueless. I guess it's just a generational thing.

That was probably one of the most incredible mind fuck earthquakes to blow up our society and rebuild it.

But I guess that's history. And each generation has it's own. Today we have Justin Bieber. Then we had Hendrix.

Times sure have changed. :-)

brooklyndude··on Ram Dass has died
There would be no 60's generation w/o Ram Dass and Tim Leary. We would have continued the 1950's mind set. As they say, "those 2 just closed the door shut on the '50s, and blew our minds with what came next."

Sounds like you are missing that part. I've attended Ram Dass lecture, he just blew us all away. He was that far out. He got it. He really did. Life, Death and what comes next. Just got it. Like no one else. He just did.

HIGHLY suggest watch this one. Dying To Know - Ram Dass & Timothy Leary - Documentary

brooklyndude··on Ram Dass has died
No.
brooklyndude··on Ram Dass has died
No Apple right?

Be Here Now got Steve to India for a year. A year in India is a long time.

And back he came, and so came Macintosh.

There is a connection. Think different. India can do that to you. Along with blowing your mind.

brooklyndude··on Dietary Supplement Use During Chemotherapy and Survival Outcomes of Patients
I come from decades in the healthcare field (and published). Honestly? I would take with a grain of salt pretty much anything i see published these days.

A. Friend 1, follows the MDs orders to the T. Is dead in 6 months.

B. Friend B. MDs you have 6 months to live. Get your affairs in order. It's hopeless. Friend B? Fuck that, I feel great.

Friend B? Alive and running off to a yoga class. 14 years later. Healthy as can B. As he says, Chinese medicine. Just do your homework.

Food for thought ... :-)

brooklyndude··on Keeping Top AI Talent in the United States [pdf]
We had some great pitches. A beautiful deck. Voice, AI, Alexa. Met with a number of VC. Just to hard to deal with, I'm thinking we should have approached China. I left the company, they seemed to have imploded. They finally got a few $$$, heard the VC are taking 40%.

China? They seem to get it. Here it's a bloodbath to raise a dime. For money is our new God. I'm not sure China is at that point yet.

Learning Mandarin. :-)

brooklyndude··on Peter Thiel To Join Trump Transition Team

brooklyndude··on Fetters and freedom: on Thomas Merton’s vision of transcendence through faith
Thomas Merton is pretty far out. Some amazing souls have walked the earth. Get away from your screen someday, and you mind may be blow, like really blown far away.

Add to your list to explore: Dorothy Day Allan Watts Ram Das Krishnamurti

Should keep you busy, for a few decades.
