bspinner··on AnyPS5: Port PS5 binaries to PC without emulation (87% system libraries mapped)
Oh boy, that time is long gone. Today you wait an hour for the game to be installed from disk and then for the day 1 patch to be downloaded and installed.
bspinner··on More German than many Germans
Would like to hear your thoughts on why that is the case.
bspinner··on Ask HN: What has been bothering you lately?
Still waiting for an eink display on par with photos on paper. The technology still lacks good color rendition

See the Mecha Comet
bspinner··on Claude.ai and API unavailable [fixed]
the prices will slowly increase until enough people actually stop paying for it.
bspinner··on Apple's intentional crippling of Mobile Safari
> No browser in iOS can use anything but WebKit

Your statement is true only outside of EU countries.

bspinner··on Rising carbon dioxide levels now detected in human blood
The EU isn't listed, because the EU is not a country.

bspinner··on Microsoft: We see all the backlash and we know we have a lot to fix in Windows
Exactly. I simply don't trust Microsoft enough anymore to choose them as my computers operating system provider. Windows just doesn't feel like something you should do private stuff with due to all that telemetry/data collecting.
bspinner··on Amiga 600: From the Amiga No One Wanted to Retro Favorite
If I remember correctly most of the 600s compatibility issues could be worked around by adjusting settings via _early startup control system_. Eg by switching off newer hardware features.
bspinner··on Tesla drives into Wile E. Coyote fake road wall in camera vs. Lidar test
Or reintroduce proximity radar at least.
bspinner··on Tesla drives into Wile E. Coyote fake road wall in camera vs. Lidar test
Since it could be misleading without this info: radar has been removed from newer model years.
bspinner··on Please stop putting cookie pop-ups on your website (2022)
How are cookie banners any better in regards to 2? Not sure what you mean by 1.
bspinner··on Shell.how: Explain Shell Commands
I tried ChatGPT 4 for some time and went back to just using manpages after several wrong results. Sometimes results were bad even after providing information about my platform.

Have there been posts already from people accidentally deleting files caused by trusting LLMs too much?

bspinner··on Ask HN: Imagine a world with 1Tb/s internet. What would change?
I would choose such device only if 100% availability comes along with the high bandwidth and low latency.
bspinner··on macOS in QEMU in Docker
Checkout tart: https://tart.run/quick-start/

It uses Apples Virtualization framework and works well, besides issues with virtiofs. But those can be worked around with virtual block devices aka images.
