buckpost··on 500px founder giving away a bunch of free photos
Sure thing.
buckpost··on A Report Card on Toronto's Startup Ecosystem
Lots of good things happening in Toronto: WattPad, ClearFit, Top Hat Monocle, CrowdCare, Interaxon. For more insight, check out this infographic: http://www.markevans.ca/hot-startups/
buckpost··on A Report Card on Toronto's Startup Ecosystem
Although it's still a quasi-secret, Toronto's startup ecosystem is thriving. There is still room for improvement, particularly the need for more capital and more support from the city.
buckpost··on Ask: How to make my linkedin profile less geeky and more marketing oriented?
To be honest, LinkedIn doesn't offer a lot of creative flexibility but here's a couple of ideas: 1. You can make your profile less formal by giving it some personality. 2. Take the same approach to your company profile by injecting some fun and liveliness.

buckpost··on Google+: The Charge of the Like Brigade
Excellent insight, including the idea that Google should have simply launched the +1 button rather than a new social network.
buckpost··on Hacker News Wordpress theme
Using it depends on the design and functionality.
buckpost··on Twitter’s Battle for Control of its API
Twitter has thrived by letting developers use its API to create a wonderfully diverse application ecosystem. The problem now is the ecosystem is thriving while Twitter struggles to find its way. Twitter has done difficult decisions to make.
buckpost··on Movable Type vs Wordpress?
WordPress in a heartbeat. More developer support, it's free and you can self-host.

buckpost··on Ten Technologies That Will Rock 2010
I'm particularly interested in the public vs. private trend.
buckpost··on Ask HN: New site to help with "where to go for dinner?"
Nice photos but where's the information about the restaurants? Until you add that, it's pretty but not useful.
buckpost··on The ultimate phone: Pomegranatephone
This is an interesting PR campaign by the Nova Scotia Tourism Bureau that has captured a lot of attention but doesn't quite work effectively. I give them points for trying, including the use Hacker News.
buckpost··on ASK HC:Best Wordpress Themes? Willing to Pay
Try Blog Oh Blog.
buckpost··on Twitter / venturehacks
Why is this posted on HN? It's a link to a Twitter account.
buckpost··on Why forcing an entrepreneur into a big company is a mistake
Because entrepreneurs thrive amid a flexible, non-bureaucratic environment.
buckpost··on Music 2.0 book - Gerd Leonhard
Not to be disrespectful but perhaps you shouldn't be using Hacker News to sell books.
buckpost··on Silicon Valley VCs versus Canada
Actually, Flickr never raised money from U.S. VCs before they were purchased by Yahoo. If I've got my facts straight, they did some angel financing in Canada from investors such as Dick Hart.
buckpost··on Yes or no: Should web startups host on Amazon?
To start, it's not a bad option but once a company gets some momentum, then they probably need to look for a "real" host.
buckpost··on Taking Twitter Seriously
Twitter has come a long way!
buckpost··on Ask YC: Who uses OpenID?
I've got an OpenID account but have rarely used it, probably because there are few places to actually use it.
buckpost··on Declutter Your Desk
With all due respect, this ain't a tech-related post so not sure why it's here.
buckpost··on Ask YC: Which web host do you use?
A Small Orange - great customer service, reasonably-priced packages.
buckpost··on Ask YC: what will replace the music album?
My guess is new music services will emerge that will analyze your digital music collections, and create playlists for you. There are, of course, many of these around already but you'll see a flurry of activity soon. If the music labels were smart, they would be right in the middle of the action by offering a free service that would pay for itself by providing download services, Webcasts and advertising.
