bushbaba··on OpenAI raises less than half of $30B target
Better comparison is Pepsi vs coke or Home Depot vs Lowe’s.
bushbaba··on OpenAI raises less than half of $30B target
Welp that’s not a good sign for the anthropic IPO. Curious what happens now that both OpenAI and Anthropic will face budgetary pressure. I don’t think they can raise prices, as it’d just open ppl to switch to Open source models.
bushbaba··on Building an AI-native engineering org
Tend to agree. AI has failed to produce more business outcome. The only thing left is cost efficiency by reducing headcount. Thus 5x more productivity means needing just 1/5th your current staffing.
bushbaba··on Anthropic may not secure investment-grade rating after IPO, Blackstone says
GitHub copilot then comes in and offers multi provider support including open source models, and gets the contract due to Microsoft’s existing establishment and lower price point.

Anthropic can’t raise their prices without loosing market share of Claude code

bushbaba··on Google value plunges by $500B as AI fears rattle Wall Street
Idk there’s a lot of unicorn startups with valuations more than 100x earnings with no path to profit.

A lot of the token spend is circular in nature and f500 has not seen a meaningful revenue or profit improvement from AI.

Sure looks like the dot com bubble.

bushbaba··on El Niño is flooding California's coasts with the highest tides to come
Flood insurance is a seperate policy often through the government.
bushbaba··on Gemini 4 Carbon
10M would be huge. I have soo many use cases that could leverage it. Pls ship it google if your listening.
bushbaba··on Wealth Inequality in America drawn to scale
Kind of makes a point to have a wealth tax. As the top 1% of w2 earners are paying a disproportionate amount of tax relative to too 1% of wealth holders.

That or just raise interest rates to force these people to sell more equity

bushbaba··on Amazon Is Gutting Its AI Division After Sustained Failure
The best of the best do work at Amazon. Their cloud infra is world class. They just cannot compete in the ai/ml space with different economics. It’s an operational company and not one to do tech innovation.

Basically you want to run an LLM, Amazon. You want to build an LLM not Amazon

bushbaba··on Microsoft offers mass buyouts for roughly a quarter of its workforce
Yes and No. If you are a citizen and have “AI” experience there’s plenty of startups offering base salaries in excess of the average Microsoft total comp.
bushbaba··on Anthropic S-1
F500 company I’m at switched off Claude code to copilot in 30 days across a 5000 person org.

There’s no moat. AI tools actually make the switching that much easier

bushbaba··on Anthropic S-1
Crazy that SpaceX has similar commitments to AWS/GCP. Means it’s very bullish for SpaceX given they produce their own energy turbines and have the best ability to deal with supply chain constraints
bushbaba··on Microsoft Decision-1: 9B Qwen Model Launch Explained
Instead the right app is hotdog / not hotdog
bushbaba··on Amazon’s “digital pacifier” for toddlers
If not Amazon, someone else would ship this. At least if you ship it you can make it less shitty
bushbaba··on Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Because of Dolly, other billionaires have stepped up to fund similar free books per month programs. She had a truly outsized impact.
bushbaba··on Today, we hacked what we'd set out to hack: the iPhone
Maybe with LLMs a full rewrite that’s more secure could be done
bushbaba··on Ask HN: If the models are so good, why doesn't OpenAI just start 100 companies?
Amazon’s edge is logistics. That’s not something you can vibe code
bushbaba··on DuckDB 2.0.0 LTS “Cinnamon Teal”
Amazing we did the exact same thing at work. Been working great. A lot of BI datasets can fit within sub 20MiB of ZSTD compressed parquet.
bushbaba··on Anthropic logged net loss of over $80B in first half of 2026
When you spend 1k/month of LLM api calls. That doesn’t sound all too unreasonable to have locally in the near future.
bushbaba··on Google Cloud outage affects almost all banking and other operations in Europe
Thundering heards during zonal outage is fairly common across the providers. You are substantially better off being multi-regional than multi-zonal.
bushbaba··on Ukraine claims first drone evacuation of wounded soldier
Why must every thread bring up Israel? This has nothing to do with it.

However Israel has and does evacuate soldiers.

bushbaba··on How Quickly Can the DoD Rebuild and Recast the Munitions Industrial Base?
They work in GPS contested environments.
bushbaba··on How Quickly Can the DoD Rebuild and Recast the Munitions Industrial Base?
That 13mil also covers r&d costs as well as the actual manufacturing costs. If we needed 10000+ the cost would go down
bushbaba··on Gen Z Is the First Generation Dumber Than Their Parents
There’s already a turn around. It’s the Covid policies at play and refusal to hold back failing students. My local district is already starting to see test scores improve
bushbaba··on Anthropic revenue jumps to $16.8B in third quarter
Makes you wonder how much of q3 revenue growth was early on. And what’s the current MoM growth.
bushbaba··on ASML's strong orders ease fears AI spending boom is running out of steam
Sure but if you bought a broad index you were fine
bushbaba··on Ledger confirms spy chip implant behind wallet crypto thefts
This is why open source wins for security. The more able you are to audit and decentralize the better.
bushbaba··on Gemini 4 Argon
Curious what this means for the anthropic ipo. Between this and meta, seems like there’s zero moat
bushbaba··on Satya Nadella says we should assume all AI models are 'compromised'
You assume he’s a human and not a super intelligent being himself
bushbaba··on A plastic once thought harmless may be fueling fatty liver disease
What does this mean for Pex and other plastic water mains?
