It depends on the type of school.

I was 1-2 years ahead of public school coming from private school around 6th grade (11-12yo).

My main concern is whether the homeschooled kids are disadvantaged by the lack of the vital social component of school.

I’ve met a number of homeschooled kids but they always seem to have limited socialization opportunities.

Deep treatment of (in)famous and obscure historical events.

Classic literature.

Controversial literature.

Philosophy.

A nonnative language, preferably Mandarin.

Phonics.

Dialectical method exercises in critical thinking.

Departments aren’t a hive mind. Individuals do work.

There are all sorts of security software that could do this. Antivirus, DLP, and more.

Conflating a variety of possibilities and relying correlation doesn’t reduce to intent or prove causation.

OTOH: Don’t play computer games on company hardware unless it’s part of the job.

I don’t have skin in this computer game. To stay ahead of cheaters requires constant vigilance and creative solutions to scale detection.

Security through obscurity isn’t security.

I fail to see an argument for this being a technical necessity.

Yep. There’s no incentive to catch every cheater because it helps sell the “need” for advantages conferred by DLC and virtual currencies.

AirTags and police are worthless. I had an AT on AirPods that dropped in my apt garage. I could see them move into a secured area that Google leased. Called the cops’ non-emergency number. “Sorry, we have a 2 day backlog” Then, I watched them leave the area, go on a highway, and arrive at a house in a residential area. The police there refused to do anything until the other police did something. It doesn’t matter if you know where your property is, people are allowed to steal it and get away with it.

There were some male to male cables that had crossover while others didn’t. Then there were null modem adapter dongles for straight through cables. They were either male-female or male-male depending.

Reminds me about older Ethernet: before Auto-MDI/MDIX on most NICs and switches, crossover RJ-45 cables were needed.
