I let my mac snort some instead to keep it awake: https://github.com/chalmovsky/snort

I wanted to call it pervitin but then I learned about the ugly historical connotation.

software is solved what r u talkin bout?

I asked myself “which programming language do I actually like ?” So: the same tasks written in 32 languages. You first pick which languages do you want to enter the tournament. Then they are randomly assigned to groups, then they fall into an upper and lower brackets, then a grand final. Matchmaking gives both languages the same task, avoids repeats within a cup, and rotates through tasks you haven’t seen. The whole thing is a single HTML file (about 130 KB gzipped, all 960 snippets included) and progress saved in local storage. If you want the over-the-top version and not well-tested 3D fighting-game arena with the same tournament: https://chalmovsky.com/prog-lang-cup/ I prefer the plain version though:D. You can also switch between the two mid tournament they both use the same data from the local storage. It was written with AI, so if some code snippet isn’t idiomatic, please tell me (or send a PR, it’s MIT): https://github.com/chalmovsky/com/tree/main/prog-lang-cup I’m collecting anonymous results (which language wins each duel) and will post the overall standings in a few weeks if there is some data :D.

I really enjoyed playing with this so I hope you will too!

lol. at first i thought this is going to be about what Sun Tzu got wrong and i was ready to refute.

no. https://github.com/rails/lemans

this seems really low?

one cherry on top is that all the agent harnesses installed with omarchy have the “yolo” mode on by default

As per usual, a very good and sane take indeed.

> I have become good at walking my dog while reading — I even got complimented for that by a stranger — and I make sure I never go to the bathroom without a book.

Come on now, what is this Monty Python?

yeah this feature works for me and its amazing! BUT one interesting caveat - it doesnt work when im in an electric car

While I agree with this (and what a refreshing thing to say indeed!), I would like to offer this as well:

If you can’t focus on some task - you can also treat it as a signal that maybe the task is not worth focusing on in the first place…

Nope, your snippet proves nothing. The only font rule in it is `font-size: inherit`, which means "don't change the size." So your proof that HN resizes text is a line that resizes nothing. Since your snippet was so useless I had to go read the actual news.css to find out what rules are actually there. The result: body text goes from 12px to 13.3px.

It's still small. The widely considered standard size of body copy is 16px or 1rem.

But the thing is, which was my point all along, it doesn't fucking matter.

I dont think you are really bothered by it either given you are discussing this on a website which has exactly the same behavior :)

Oh, please. Can we stop with the pseudo-profound psychologizing? PS: I am aware I am shouting into the void.

I strongly smell sour grapes bias in this comment section.

This might shock you but vast majority of bugs are logical.

What are you running on it is the only question which matters, obviously you dont want air traffic control to go down but some app… So what if it goes down? Backup is somewhere else if you even need it anyway. Github has uptime less than 90% according to this: https://mrshu.github.io/github-statuses/ . And the world keeps turning. Obviously we should strive for better, but also lets please not continue making this uptime fetish out of it, for vast majority of the apps it absolutely doesnt fucking matter.

Hello! I really, really liked your article a lot and I'm happy I get to tell it to you! The drawings are just cherry on top.

I absolutely hate these types of UIs. I can't stress enough how much revulsion I feel towards this kind of bullshit.

And we are not even talking yet about the "screen vs buttons in a car" problem.

So for the sake of argument let’s establish this: a vibe coded browser presents a vibe coded UI based upon vibe coded backend. Surely this will work great!

It was not cause by this. https://github.com/oven-sh/bun/issues/28001#issuecomment-416...
