charcircuit··on AI isn't replacing SREs, it's deskilling them
The test code is written and checked by AI without humans needing to be the ones looking at it.
charcircuit··on Anthropic to receive high 'junk' rating from credit agencies following IPO
Well whatever the next thing after LLMs would be Anthropic would be in the perfect position and have the perfect expertise to train it.
charcircuit··on Show HN: To Honor Sir Patrick Stewart, Enjoy the TNG Episode Guessing Game
How would he be honorary STEM? Do you consider real life aircraft employees to also be STEM or honorary STEM.
charcircuit··on If IPv4 were land
Practically everything on IPv6 also has a IPv4 address you can use instead. Adding IPv6 just adds more that can go wrong.
charcircuit··on DoorDash to acquire Instacart
If I ask my employer if I can start a YouTube channel and then after getting permission I start posting videos that make the company look bad, and showing how awesome competitor products were I wouldn't be surprised if I got fired. I wouldn't be fired for the account but what I did with it.
charcircuit··on DoorDash to acquire Instacart
What would be illegal about firing an employee who you think is causing your company to get a bad image?

You are free to give any suggestion that you want.
charcircuit··on Wikipedia's Cleanup of AI-Generated Content
Saying there is no collaboration is like saying multiple people on a software project can't collaborate with Claude Code because it's really just Claude writing the code.
charcircuit··on Wikipedia's Cleanup of AI-Generated Content
So is Wikipedia, but with grokipedia you can at least correct it even if there is not a journalist pointing out the obvious.
charcircuit··on AI is ruining haunted houses
People provide other images for the AI to integrate into the flyer. It doesn't make up everything.
charcircuit··on AI is ruining haunted houses
For example if a shop is having an Independence Day sale, just saying that it's happening with text is not very attractive.
charcircuit··on Wikipedia's Cleanup of AI-Generated Content
Grokipedia serves as an existence proof that it is possible.
charcircuit··on AI is ruining haunted houses
No, it means the promotion would suck and I wouldn't be interested in events that I would be interested in if marketed to me correctly.
charcircuit··on AI is ruining haunted houses
AI art has made attractive graphic design available to the masses. I don't get the hatred for them since they both look good and wouldn't exist without AI.
charcircuit··on IBM CEO says open weight models are now good and cheap on-prem
>and it doesn’t report you to the police when it suspects you did something illegal

This is an alignment issue. OpenClaw with a local LLM with an email you setup for it could contact the police.

charcircuit··on IBM CEO says open weight models are now good and cheap on-prem
>I don't get to hear that it's not a doctor and I should call 911.

Local models can do this and with tool use they can even call emergency services for you on your behalf.

charcircuit··on Amazon’s “digital pacifier” for toddlers
Have you considered that they are making the the world better and your process of measuring is flawed.
charcircuit··on Attention Is Not What You Need (2025)
Scale is all you need.

That's why you see other attention free large language models work. But in a world with constraints on time and compute the architecture does matter because scaling does have a cost (which is dropping)

charcircuit··on Show HN: Steal My Bitcoin
ASLR protects against exploits already too.
charcircuit··on Oregon Police Are Charging a Local News Outlet $2.5M for Records About One Cop
We need AI powered FOIA request responses. All of these manual process are prone to abuse.
charcircuit··on We should be more ambitious with the software we build
>If you 10x thay development process then you also have to do the same with the business processes.

Or the extra time can be used towards polishing the software.

charcircuit··on I don't understand quantum physics (2018)
Why can AI generate pictures of waterfalls if it has never lived on Earth?
charcircuit··on Xbox wants you to pay 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games you bought
It sounds exactly how netcafes operate where the public can lease a computer and play games for a few hours. I don't think it's weird they have to get special licenses just like netcafes do.
charcircuit··on Xbox wants you to pay 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games you bought
Xcloud is about a RTX 3060 Ti which you can rent, including power and the rest of the system from $0.03 per hour as a spot price. At scale Microsoft should be able to be able to get a better price than just the hardware component.
charcircuit··on Jailbreaking the Switch 2
Showing off the exploit by infringing copyright, just goes to show you that these exists are primarily used to steal from developers via piracy.
charcircuit··on Meta ordered to pay $25B penalty in New Mexico Cambridge Analytica case
>harming decisions

It's infantilizing to think it's harmful to give users control over their privacy because they are too stupid to understand what they are doing when they share their data with someone that it shares their personal data with someone.

charcircuit··on Epic Games Inc v Apple Inc
This is disappointing to see. Apple has invested billions of dollars into building the iPhone and part of its business model is having a central App Store. Instead of trying to encourage other phone manufactures to compete, they are forcing there to be competition within Apple's own ecosystem they created. Apple built their hole platform which is why they are able to make choices on how it works.

It is punishing Apple for building too great of a product.

charcircuit··on PHP 8.2.35
We are talking about a hypothetical where a patch is made <2 months. With AI agents, I can 100% assure you it would take a max of a few days to pat CB and test a mitigation. Not months.

If you are warning people to turn off their servers. You might as well give them a patch at the same time.

charcircuit··on PHP 8.2.35
If it takes 2 months to do fix a massive security issue, it's best if someone else steps up to the plate to fix it.
