Well the Mistral portal is honestly kind of confusing, considering that most people just want to enter CC details and get an API key.. But it's doable!

The weird part is that they would’ve gotten the right permit in a few weeks. Now they are just sending a message that they are above the law. Even if you are allowed to do something, it doesn’t mean there isn’t limitations how you can do it.

Difference is that most people/companies try to follow laws while doing that.

Also the entity selling the land is ofc not the same as the entity enforcing the law. I assume that everyone was kind of expecting that they would follow the laws.

If I can recreate your "frontier" SaaS with day-to-day coding, it has no value. Or perhaps the few months' lead was never the deciding factor.

Having worked at all sorts of roles, I would say that the owner is the only one not replaceable.
