clarkcox3··on How I, as someone who is visually impaired, use my iPhone (2020)
That is simply not true. Building the entire client app from source takes about a half hour.

Why would you think that using auto would reduce the performance of your code?
clarkcox3··on UBeam wireless charging demonstration
But if this was present in your office/classroom/car it wouldn't matter if it was slow, as long as it was fast enough to provide more power than you were using at a given time. I.e. It doesn't matter if it takes 5 hours to charge if you're around a source 8 or 9 hours a day.
clarkcox3··on Twitter Sues Federal Government
If they could show probable cause, then they'd already have a warrant. They don't.
clarkcox3··on Twitter Sues Federal Government
So what? I could claim to be a government official on Twitter; that wouldn't give the government the right to my identity.

> As you can pretty much do everything off the bat, there's no "oh a boulder, can't move it, better come back later" element to the game.

Many people (myself included) see that as a good thing. Every time I come up to an obstacle, I know that the only thing keeping me from getting past it is my own skill; I know there's no contrived McGuffin that will come along later and trivialize the time/effort spent working my way around it.

> As my gear improves, I don't feel any stronger.

Really? I'm about the same place in the game as you (i.e. two divine beasts down), and I can take on all sorts of enemies that I couldn't before. I definitely feel stronger than I did at the beginning of the game (e.g. I don't have to run in fear every time a guardian lights up, I can quickly go to the "test of strength" shrines whenever I need new weaponry, etc.)

> Cooking could be 10x easier

It could certainly be faster (I'd love to be able to batch my recipies instead of having to cook 10 meals, one at a time)

But gold and silver only have "intrinsic" value because we have faith that they do. Even the gold standard is based on faith.
clarkcox3··on FBI Used Best Buy's Geek Squad to Increase Secret Public Surveillance
If you're repairing someone else's computer and come across child porn, aren't you obligated to report it? (if only to cover your own ass, as technically you are now in possession of cp).
clarkcox3··on Announcing the first SHA-1 collision
Yes; by definition using something with X possible values to represent something with Y possible values will always have collisions if X < Y.

> so brute-force is out

Until someone gets ahold of a list of the hashed passwords and can brute force them at home without triggering the lockout.

clarkcox3··on Modern C [pdf]
The example with ">= 0" is an infinite loop, a size_t will always be greater than or equal to zero; it's unsigned.
