Change is the only constant

No, because not all work is productive

Not really. 93,116 tech employees laid off due to AI in 2026.

Yes. Why does only ClosedAI have this problem?

I think the main problem with linux is that the effort is so distributed. People don't need 30 different distros to choose from they just need 1 really polished and stable experience.

The problem is tech moves so fast that by time kid is adult llm are outdated

:(

need the south park episode with the shake weight version of this

Well, the original script said they used humans for their brainpower (computation)

not a skill i'm interested in, lol..

time to support open source and local models

Everything a human knows has to be learned

When my ai reversed engineered an api for a site that had none

It’s the on off programming of our society, or left vs right. Apparently, some people think in only black or white.

I believe in God and that the base of our reality is his consciousness, therefore anything of sufficient complexity has consciousness.

Thanks looks like they just added it 1 hour ago

I have 24 gb unified memory so it’s a good model for me

I don’t see the download in lm studio

Can we put webcams in larrys home then?

I imagine it is because people who aspire to work in gaming will also aspire to lower pay for the prestige, even if in reality the work is equally boring.

If you want an AI to do a specific task in a specific way, you'll always need to prompt it.

I’m happy with spending zero dollars on ai lol..

kind of weirded me out lol...

I agree. The AI bubble is going to pop, people will move to local models, and the datacenters will be abandoned

Not really, I can run models on my 24GB mac.

BSOD now stands for bullshit on demand... thanks to AI

me too. plus, I don't like the idea of needing massive datacenters, it's not good for anybody

This is very good, local models run well on my M3 Air 24GB, to the point where I may prefer it even if it takes longer. The benefits are

  - private

  - local

  - no internet required

  - works well enough for most tasks

  - "free"

  - will pop this "AI" bubble as word spreads

I got pretty good results with the model in the article on my machine. Sure, it took forever, but that doesn't matter to me as much, and it's kind of cool just watching it do its thing through LM studio. The result was also impressive enough for me that I would actually use it.

Why pay $20/mo when local is good enough?

Proof the people running things are stupid I guess.
