Boosters are gonna be the norm moving forward, I highly recommend people to check out TWIV (This Week In Virology) Podcast it has a lot of information based on real data and studies coming out.

cloudengineer94··on Microsoft Teams: 1 feature, 4 vulnerabilities
Still waiting for these guys to update their MacOS app, we use it in our company and it's so bad that our own team uses Slack.
cloudengineer94··on Internet addiction and the habit of book reading
I have to get into the habit of reading books again, because of the internet I started to just read stuff online because it was just so much easier to keep up to date on things.
cloudengineer94··on CT scans of AirPods evolution
Absolutely love the AirPods family of devices I have own every single one of them but sadly the AirPods Pro are not compatible with me because of the tips which hurt my ears.

Currently using the new Gen 3 and they are amazing! I do have a full life inside Apple ecosystem besides my Gaming Rig and Gaming Laptop.

cloudengineer94··on Internet addiction: The emergence of a new clinical disorder (1996) [pdf]
I have been giving a lot of thoughts into this for quite a few years now. A few years ago I went on a trip and ended up staying at a friend's house where he didn't any internet connection. There was Mobile Data available but where I was it was very expensive due to the data cap being 1GB at the time.

Anyhow, being disconnected for like 3 days in a row felt like a drug user without their "fix". There was no way to connect to the internet so I could watch either news or talk to my loved ones via Skype (now you can see how many years ago this was) or just play some online game.

It was a weird experience because after those 3 days it felt like I was in a coma, I was completely disconnected of everything that was going around having only the local newspaper in the nearby town to what was happening, and since it was just local/national news I had no idea what was happening in my home country.

At the end of those holidays I ended up taking away that it's odd having your personal life and work life (I work remote) relying always on being "connected". Not just odd but it does feel like people who are used to it feel different once we don't have it anymore.

cloudengineer94··on Should Windows Transition to Linux?
I'm always in for more OS/software doing the transition to Linux.
cloudengineer94··on Ask HN: Why is everything changing too fast?
Honestly, I'm really worried about the bloat most of the software is getting.. Plus the terrible state the products are coming. I'm not just talking just ordinary every day work software but also games.

In general the software stacks are getting bloated, overcomplicated and new updates/features are coming out really supper buggy.

cloudengineer94··on Common Infrastructure Errors I've Made
I work with Azure and my issue is always problems with the Azure Keyvault.. At a personal deployment, it's always passwords I always forget to save them because I'm juggling with tons of things at once lol.
cloudengineer94··on Signal devs don't intend to support Apple M1
Yeah I think the big issue is for MS Teams, that big is just a bad app overall.
cloudengineer94··on Framework: Solving for Silicon Shortages
Framework is such an interesting project. Especially from the perspective of a Linux user, there is tons of potential here and I cannot wait to see their next generation laptops.
cloudengineer94··on Ask HN: Is the Great Resignation in tech real? If so, why?
Honestly from my perspective, the companies that don't adapt to remote work to IT related jobs that don't work require "physical place" are the ones who are gonna loose talent.

I mainly work with cloud workloads and it's without a doubt people that work in my fiel dare moving from jobs because of the lack of full remote work.

I can't complain about my company ever since we went home we signed an extension contract to work from home at full time. We also managed to start recruiting across the country and not just the "local city" where we settled in.
