cmac2992··on Ford trims EV battery orders as losses swell to over $100k per electric car
New production line and tooling fixed costs are included in the per vehicle costs. Ford is missing their delivery estimates so the fixed costs get spread out across significantly less vehicles.
cmac2992··on Tesla Cybertruck Pricing and Specs
I think you me under a few mph. You don't need that much assist at highway speed but you need a ton of assist at a dead stop.
cmac2992··on Tesla Cybertruck Pricing and Specs
Especially most trucks
cmac2992··on Tesla Cybertruck Pricing and Specs
Crash tests are shown in the release videos. It'll probably end up with a pretty decent rating. 3mm stainless steel will crumple when confronted with several tons of weight behind it.

It's my understanding good front end crash tests are a bit simpler for ev's because you aren't worried about a 300 lb chunk of cast iron coming through to the front of cabin.

Pedestrians be dammed apparently. This is merica.

cmac2992··on Tesla Cybertruck Pricing and Specs
It's clearly not a 911 Turbo or Turbo s. Probably a base 911.

Also not discounting tesla shenanigans. Would be easy enough to run the 1/4 a few times and get the 911 nice heat soaked and way down on power.

cmac2992··on Facebook says it was wrong to ban Canadian MP’s Christmas message
It's impressive considering how readable the text is. I'm especially impressed with ted Cruz who is a lawyer and literally works in the same building as the guy who wrote it but still manages to spend his days misrepresenting it.
cmac2992··on Facebook says it was wrong to ban Canadian MP’s Christmas message
Ahhhhhh this is not what section 230 says at all. Go read it. It's not long and not complicated.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/47/230

There is literally a section that talks about that a company can restrict basically a huge range of content.

cmac2992··on Why thieves love to steal catalytic converters
One way to have better information about the situation is to not shoot them.
cmac2992··on Why thieves love to steal catalytic converters
How can the castle doctrine possibly be applied to most catalytic converter thefts???
cmac2992··on Twitter and Facebook's action over Joe Biden article reignites bias claims
From my understanding that is what happened in france in 2017
cmac2992··on Google recommends all North America employees work from home
Europe, in general, has more hospital beds per capita than the US. Hospital beds per capita seems to be a reasonable heuristic.

cmac2992··on Should Facebook, Google be liable for user posts? asks U.S. Attorney General
I hear that argument a lot as well. It's a very strange argument because publishers don't have a legal requirement to be "unbiased".
cmac2992··on Tesla's self driving algorithm's overlay [video]
The cruise team has put out a few videos in the past. They even showcased their visualization software.

cmac2992··on Don't Post Evergreen Content on Medium
It's almost like there is a trade off of getting additional distribution for limited control.
cmac2992··on The Secretive Business of Facial-Recognition Software in Retail Stores
Seems like it falls under COPPA
cmac2992··on Facebook Will Cut Off Access to Third Party Data for Ad Targeting
Ya, that's exactly what these data brokers do. Its anonymous(when in FB ecosystem) to the end advertisers but they sell your data to ad platforms or advertisers.
cmac2992··on Facebook Will Cut Off Access to Third Party Data for Ad Targeting
As far as I'm aware, the data only flows one direction, from the 3rd party data partner into facebook, not the other way around.
cmac2992··on Facebook pauses app reviews, disables new user authorizations
>not allowing new users to auth their app

Where does it say this? Is that in separate reporting? That would be huge.

cmac2992··on Uber’s Self-Driving Cars Were Struggling Before Arizona Crash
They've drive 5 million real miles and billions of virtual miles.
cmac2992··on Facebook is America’s scapegoat du jour
"We", as in discourse in the mainstream media, which includes fox and others who overplayed the story.
cmac2992··on Facebook is America’s scapegoat du jour
Flip on fox. someone mentions it basically everyday. Fox is the most watched cable news channel.
cmac2992··on Facebook is America’s scapegoat du jour
We are still talking about it and she wasn't even elected. The emails should definitely have been a scandal. Being the leading story for a few weeks seems reasonable, but its being treated as a massive, important scandal years later.
cmac2992··on Downloaded my Facebook data and it has the call history with my partner’s mother
thats probably the facebook pixel or the facebook sdk doing this, not the facebook app
cmac2992··on Video suggests huge problems with Uber’s driverless car program
You'd also need to account for disengagements. Some portion of all disengagements were likely to avoid accidents.
cmac2992··on South Korean government to shut off computers to stop its employees working late
How do you define efficiency?

Germany, Switzerland have higher per capital costs than France Britain and Canada.

cmac2992··on Zuckerberg on Cambridge Analytica situation
I'd have to dig through the TOS again to confirm my memory on some of this stuff. You definitely could create a custom audience and target your fb app users based on UID.

Unless I'm reading this interface totally wrong

cmac2992··on Zuckerberg on Cambridge Analytica situation
Pulling user data(and friend data) from the API was "fair game" pre 2014. It was an explicit permission you could ask for.

Gleaming insights from that data and then using that data for targeting on FB is/was the point.

Creating an app that collected the data under false pretenses, transferring that data to another 3rd party and then claiming you never had that data makes it a different situation.

cmac2992··on Users Abandon Facebook After Cambridge Analytica Findings
Possible, but much of that info is also surfaced in the "why am I seeing this ad" button.

Wait until people find out about the Facebook pixel.

cmac2992··on Users Abandon Facebook After Cambridge Analytica Findings
Ads manager targeting is a funny beast. Even FB doesn't really know the available targeting buckets. A lot of the time, the algorithms just create the targeting buckets.
cmac2992··on Tempe Police Release Video of Uber Accident
Autopilot does not count. I'm assuming it's because it requires people to be actively engaged in the task of driving and it only works in very specific situations. Tesla reported 0 miles of autonomous driving in CA on public roads last year.
