This was the past IMO. Future will have larger number of people writing even more software.
I wonder if the author has met people working in non-software industries, but most software is still unwritten. What we have nowis most amount of software for software developers.
But they have the best people of the industry who are highly paid for their engineering and problem solving skills.
Isn't this the kind of problem they are supposed to solve ?
> As a software engineer I understand these sort of bugs.
As a software engineer I would have understood this sort of bug if it was some startup.
I wonder reddit would be even more useless for me since half the content is from giphy.
They aren't solving the problem. They are making sure only they can get all the user information.
I would rather give all my information to everyone rather than giving all my information to google.
please don't ask made up questions. or else we complete the whole cycle. ask when you really want to know something. else it's just stupid.
Because as you said "It's certainly not perfect yet"
So we can't fix it. More so we shouldn't fix it because its 'the sht others do'
> You basically said "if you don't like it why don't you go fix it".
That is exactly what i am saying.
> But what you said is just a pervasive form of the "man up (and fix my shit if you don't like it)" of social responsibility debate.
I am not saying that. You are saying that its the only choice we have (because why would we want to fix it).
> Sorry if you are not actually trying to troll, but it really looks like it to me.
Same comes to my mind.
So you are saying at most what we should do is complain. If that changes nothing, what else we could have done.
maybe it should be. a wider variety of takes is available on youtube comment section.
your rest of the comment is again just absolute worst of what you can say about the govt in one sweep.
nobody is saying indian govt is the best.
which "single" front have you fought ?
being blind is one thing, and closing your eyes to a complete set of issues and blame the govt is something else.
since every one here can identify the issues, so i dont think anyone is blind here.
> The legal system is plagued with almost absurd delays
Explained in other sibling comment.
> India is the most corrupt country in Asia
but not the most corrupt in the world right ? not even in top 10. And you choose to say "a complete joke".
> Extrajudicial killings by police are organised, commonplace and are ignored or condoned by politicians and the judiciary
Law doesn't work like that. It would be a major problem if judiciary was just able to do what it "thinks" is correct.
> I can't think of any part of the Indian criminal justice system that isn't severely dysfunctional.
Don't even know how to respond to that. Maybe become a judge in a court ?
You do know why. Because its a low pay job and private jobs are paying higher.
Becoming a lawyer will earn you 10x more than any judge. And so we have no shortage of lawyers.
But then I assume you would counter this with "so govt should pay them higher" ?
I am sure the devil is in the details, but its easier to slam the govt doing anything.

The justification is incompetent (not trying to insult govt workers here but you know only people who got no private jobs in engineering look towards govt jobs) because the smart people wont join govt jobs because govt jobs don't pay as much.
I don't think govt needs to say it out loud because it would change nothing and helps no one.
Exactly what is a "complete joke" about the legal system ? The whole in its entirety ?
> They are also planning an e pass feature which will be required to board a flight/metro
Wasn't this the future everyone imagined ? or we all want to carry more X number of cards ?
To everyone who is pointing out the obvious negatives, why don't you go into govt jobs making these apps/policies and do what you believe is correct/perfect.
I couldn't like this approach of mandatory app lesser, but 'lets not do it because it has potential for abuse' cliche needs to phase out.
