codingclaws··on Ask HN: Is back end dev generally easier than front end?
If you remove all unnecessary complication, then front-end is probably easier in general. But, front-end is usually rife with complication.
codingclaws··on 10 years of whatever this has been
I think it facilitates the construction of non-hierarchical organizations where the participants don't have to know each other. In other words, it seems feasible to build companies that have low politics, low backstabbing and minimal profit siphoning.

Of course, it will probably take some sophisticated code and some time.

codingclaws··on Ask HN: Ridiculous job interview. What do I do?
Personally, I reject all companies that want to do more than one round.
codingclaws··on “Click to subscribe, call to cancel” is illegal, FTC says
Neither I'd say. They're usually on long stretches of old highways with no traffic lights between roundabouts where lots of commercial and residential buildings (and thus people) are right on the curb.
codingclaws··on “Click to subscribe, call to cancel” is illegal, FTC says
Portugal is logical on some stuff.

Another example is prostitution is legal but you can only advertise yourself. I wonder what other countries have prostitution set up like this.

Or the speed traps that just trigger a red light.

Decriminalization of all drugs obviously too.

codingclaws··on I hate password rules
At PNS [0], I believe our only rule is 9-100 characters.

codingclaws··on Ask HN: Can Anything Replace the Smartphone
Something hands-free, over the eyes. AR and individual humans harnessing AI go hand-in-hand.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: What is the best engineered toy for children?
Legos have excellent UX.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: Best Web development tutorial without any frameworks?
https://symfony.com/doc/current/introduction/from_flat_php_t...
codingclaws··on Ask HN: How to Get Better at Finishing?
There is no finish. Get something easy working, then add commits. Making sure to work on the most important tasks.
codingclaws··on An original Apple-1 computer sells for $400k
How much for an apple-2? I know someone who has one.
codingclaws··on How does a game engine work? an overview (2016)
When I built a game engine, the most important thing I learned was to use the same dt every time for the physics. So, your physics update might run multiple times within a single game loop iteration and you need interpolation to deal with any leftover time. Glenn taught me this:

codingclaws··on Why did Dostoyevsky write Crime and Punishment?
I immediately got a GPT3 vibe.
codingclaws··on Percentage of Hacker News job postings that mention a remote option 2017-2021
that's neat
codingclaws··on Ask HN: How do I regain my passion for programming?
Happens all the time. The only solution I know of is to stop programming for an extended period of time. Actually I think I'm going through it right now. Haven't coded in about a month.
codingclaws··on Willingness to look stupid
I like to look stupid too, it's just original if anything. For instance I named my HN clone Peaches 'n' Stink and everyone thinks it's just such a dumb name.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: Can I see the most recent comments sent to me?
The name of what project?
codingclaws··on Ask HN: If you wanted to put source code on a t-shirt, what would you write?
I'll try to clarify here. I don't mean a whole file. More just a single expression that other devs would understand. eg. (+ 1 2) or the ternary operator or something.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: If you wanted to put source code on a t-shirt, what would you write?
I was thinking something like just (+ 1 2)
codingclaws··on Ask HN: If you wanted to put source code on a t-shirt, what would you write?
that's old
codingclaws··on Printf(“%s %s”, dependency, injection)

codingclaws··on Ask HN: Can I see the most recent comments sent to me?
If you are active enough, then the same issue applies to 3 days.
codingclaws··on MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch
Wow, scrolling controls the animation frame by frame. Never seen that. Cool and frightening.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: Can I see the most recent comments sent to me?
I wouldn't go that far. Maybe lacking this feature was a feature to PG. But if you want a HN clone that has this feature, I'm running one. Look at my submissions.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: Can I see the most recent comments sent to me?
I'm aware of that, but it's bad UX with my 5 week example because I'd have to deliberately page back 5 weeks.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: What do you do socially that you learned from a book?
Great insight. I find it hard to control my thoughts, ie. I think I would find it hard to turn off negative self-talk during certain situations.
codingclaws··on Show HN: I built a sonar into my surfboard
It is part of it. But consistent perfect waves is even more joyful.
codingclaws··on Governor vows criminal prosecution of reporter who found flaw in state website
"...decoded the HTML source code..."
codingclaws··on What I wish I knew when learning F#
This is off topic. I can't resist - that's the thickest sticky header I've seen from a developer.
codingclaws··on Ask HN: What are the REAL pros and cons of Cloud Computing?
I think sys admin is supposed to be easier.

I don't like their walled-in, complicated stacks.
