My team rotates 1 sacrificial member every week to be on call with prod k8s access. It limits who can just push things to prod at any given time while making sure everyone on the team has experience. If someone is out sick or on vacation we do time trading, it works out for everyone.
It's pretty obvious to me when someone just copy pastes claude spew onto a website and calls it a day. If they put in enough effort that I can no longer tell then sure, I will read that.
On Android I use Firefox despite the rough edges simply because the usability gain of the mobile web with ublock Origin is insane. Also it's nice sending tabs between desktop and mobile.
Validating that a path on a grid doesn't move through impassable objects is definitely much cheaper than running a pathfinding algorithm, especially on 2004 hardware. You'd have to make those checks as well in order to run the pathfinding.
Other countries are free to find a way to incentivize building home-grown equivalents and prioritizing that software or even applying tarrifs to foreign software.
One of the reasons I loved learning Helix is that it shows you the list of possible next keypresses every time you press the first key in a combo. Amazing for discoverability. It even works for user defined shortcuts!
It feels so degrading talking to the bot. Last time I did it I was trying to upgrade my service to take advantage of a 2.5GbE modem I bought and I almost said screw it because it was so frustrating with the long pauses after everything I said!
We're using grok and while I can usually understand the comments they're always at least 2x as verbose as they need to be. It loves explaining everything in two different ways, putting one of the explanations in parenthesis.
I think the more likely explanation is that the Cursor data they effectively acquired for $10B was extremely valuable for their training when combined with the insane number of GB300s xAI has for training.
Sometimes the law is vibes, SCOTUS will probably create a set of tests where lower courts will have to look at how many points it hits and decide whether it's over the line on a case by case basis.
I think the point is more that the patent office has been too broad with issuing software patents. I'm sure some are reasonable, but many are "obvious to someone skilled in the art" and should not have been issued.
If you've collected data on a California resident with the intent to profit from its sale then you're doing some type of business with respect to California
The company would have to not have any interstate presence at all. If you are a business based in the united states that has customers in California, you are easily reachable under California law.
This is part of why my text editor is built from source on my own branch where I only occasionally pull in changes from master. I know I'm probably a very rare exception here.
Technically open source requires some amount of monetary volunteering, it's just that the electricity to run a code editor and compile (most) open source code bases is within hobby budget for most people.
Satellites flying at 360km (the target altitude for starlink V3) deorbit very quickly without regular burns. Dead starlink satellites are guaranteed to come down within 5 years.
Just coverage is already provided by the 600-something direct to cell satellites already in orbit yes, but you need more if you want it to be useful beyond loading text-only posts or sending SMS
One difference is you usually only get one shot to manipulate a human before they get suspicious. If the LLM's context resets you can try all over as if your first failed attempt didn't even happen.
It was more that IT considered the college-hosted git instance "experimental" still, in multiple project courses we were required to use college hosted version control as part of the class, but those who wanted to use git were on their own to figure it out.
When I went to college (early 2010s) professors were still encouraging students to use SVN, so I probably have a fair number of peers who didn't learn git until they got out into the real world
If you're big enough you can get direct access to Nvidia engineers, and they are usually transparent when they find out the bug was in their software and send you a patched version to try to resolve the issue
