cornewut··on Prebake: Block EU Cookie Notices with Adblock
Actually the law cares only about tracking not cookies.

And there are a lot of ways to track users even without cookies.

cornewut··on Prebake: Block EU Cookie Notices with Adblock
I don't think the law specifies to use cookies to disable cookies and it's a good thing - lawmakers shouldn't care about technological solutions.
cornewut··on Prebake: Block EU Cookie Notices with Adblock
Or how about Google making a form of Adsense that doesn't track users?

I somehow have a feeling that large corporations intentionally are trying to make this law ridiculous. E.g. why blogspot pages would need such warnings? Please Google just stop tracking.

cornewut··on Prebake: Block EU Cookie Notices with Adblock
I think law is fine and there should be only a handful of sites in the Internet that would need such warnings.

Problem is the abuse of technology to track users.

cornewut··on Inuit Study Adds Twist to Omega-3 Fatty Acids’ Health Story
As a Northern European I'm often amused by all the studies of allergenic properties of milk coming in from different parts of world.
cornewut··on Cancer patient gets a 3D-printed titanium rib cage
You could make the titanium parts hollow. That would solve the density problem.
cornewut··on Secretive fusion company claims reactor breakthrough
Just to elaborate - this has been a popular joke among physicists for some 50 years as fusion power was promised already back then.
cornewut··on Surely you're joking, Skype
There is no "delete" on Internet
cornewut··on Japanese Change Trays
Actually I can't even imagine handing cash directly to someone - this kind of seems rude to me. It would be even worse if the note was folded. Doing this also might involve hand contact (which again might make someone uncomfortable). (I'm from Northern Europe).
cornewut··on New SSA Back End for the Go Compiler
I'm sorry, I misread it as "New NSA backdoor".
cornewut··on Hackers Cut in Line at the Burning Man Ticket Sale–And Get Caught
I wonder if any of the "hackers" will get sued.

cornewut··on Google Analytics, Casualty of Spam
Adding to this - most privacy/adblock plugins also block analytics. So I really have to doubt that Google Analytics is of much value.
cornewut··on GoGo does not need to run “Man in the Middle Attacks” on YouTube
The problem is not that they are doing this, but that they can.

This is a technology problem and it will not be fixed by shaming offenders (GoGo probably didn't have any evil intentions at all).

cornewut··on How Facebook Knows When Its Ads Influence Your Offline Purchases
Amazon product pages already have Facebook tracker embedded, so Facebook knows what you are looking at. No need to provide your phone number.
cornewut··on 23andMe UK
Entering a fake name doesn't really help. If one of your relatives also orders the kit, your name can easily be found out.
cornewut··on Quicksort in 3 lines of shell
I guess he meant pseudo 3 lines.
cornewut··on HP 3D printing
Printing with blood is more of a niche market right now.

Hussein used to do that, but it never went mainstream [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Quran]

cornewut··on Against the Grain: Should you go gluten-free?
I suspect a guaranteed job there actually did help a lot of people with mental disorders.

Also back then Eastern Europeans were eating way less meat and sugary foods. Also self grown food was very popular (due to lack of food in centralized stores)

cornewut··on Ad blocker that clicks on the ads
Those worried about supporting content creators - there are other ways to do this( e.g. Flattr).

It's not like Google is blocking something. Google is blocked by China.
cornewut··on How Google's Autonomous Car Passed the First U.S. State Self-Driving Test
I find it interesting that google is building a self-driving car for public roads. There's such a vide variety of other applications (like agricultural and industrial vehicles) that would require much simpler control mechanism.
