Isn’t that the pattern with every new hardware generation from Apple?

Quite often some kind of display problem.

Wouldn’t buy a Apple device without Apple care or I would wait for the later iterations when the early production problems are solved.

croes··on Grok releases the first seven minutes of its AI-generated 'Odyssey'
Don’t forget it claims to be historically correct.

Can’t wait to see historically correct gods.

Just skipped through but got the feeling of a school play where everyone waits to say their lines

They show an ad for apple music an it’s 100M songs on top of the page and the x to close the ad only removes the subtitle
croes··on Ask HN: If the models are so good, why doesn't OpenAI just start 100 companies?
If the models are so good why should anybody buy the products of those companies instead of creating their own with the model?

That the crux of AI, if it’s so good it devalues the products it creates

croes··on The same AI request emits 8.5 times more CO2 in Texas than in Sweden
It’s not either Texas or Sweden, it’s either Texas or Texas and Sweden. You just get more datacenters and more CO2 output.
croes··on The same AI request emits 8.5 times more CO2 in Texas than in Sweden
Except they wouldn't move to Texas but would also build in Texas. So you don't get a less polluting datacenter but you get one less polluting and one more polluting datacenter. A Swedish datacenter doesn't simply replace one in Texas, it's an additional one.
croes··on The same AI request emits 8.5 times more CO2 in Texas than in Sweden
Less waste of resources is still waste of resources.

A manager who understands the details is just a manager.

Where is the difference between telling an AI what to do and telling a human programmer?

Lets make an experiment. I give you a slow AI which you can prompt once a day and you get the answer the next day.

Are you still a programmer?

What if I randomly replace the AI with human programmer who delivers your code.

Still a programmer if a human wrote it?

I can ask AI to create an illustration but I would call myself an illustrator.

I wouldn’t even claim I calculated the root of 1,234,567 when I used a calculator to do it.
