You can get a WiiM Amp or Ultra with HDMI eARC, but you can go cheaper if optical out is good enough. Many TVs still have that one

da768··on Oracle VM VirtualBox – VM Escape via VGA Device
Network appliances (Lanner, Netgate, Axiomtek, PC Engines, etc) typically only have a serial console and no GPU hardware at all. Same applies for any linux VMs, you can remove VGA devices and keep a serial port in the config

da768··on Rogers networks reliability and resiliency assessment after 2022-07-08 outage
Usually smaller ISPs use the Bell/Rogers for last mile, but have their own backbone. IIRC Beanfield is completely independent, but is only available in Toronto
da768··on Rogers networks reliability and resiliency assessment after 2022-07-08 outage
Shaw customer base was acquired by Rogers, but they weren't allowed to absorb Freedom Mobile, which went to Quebecor.
da768··on NexDock turns your smartphone into a laptop
Pixel 8a works just fine.

It's still using mirror mode by default. There's a Desktop mode you can enable in developer settings which works well with the NexDock hardware, but the desktop mode UI is still pretty buggy at the moment.

da768··on NexDock turns your smartphone into a laptop
Looks like it's finally getting somewhere in the latest Android beta, but definitely not read for production.

NexDock 360 works pretty well with the Pixel 8a in desktop mode so far

da768··on Using a 1965 Dutch rotary phone via VoIP
Yes, I stand corrected.
da768··on Using a 1965 Dutch rotary phone via VoIP
There are adapters for handsets on Amazon, but interfacing to a phone could be harder as you have to provide DC power and deal with duplex audio on a single pair. If you're only using it as a mic, a 9v battery, resistor and decoupling capacitor might work.

An easier way could be to join the conference audio through SIP.

da768··on Japan enacts law to promote competition in smartphone app stores
Just waiting for Adobe Store, Amazon Store, Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, etc. to be installed on every phones soon.
