In the rural UK area where I live farmers will often be happy to have you shoot them with an airgun, if you seek permission. Nice (if stewed) cheap meat.

Isnt that a bit slow for these?

I wish HN could auto-tag comments from bots.

I think there must be such a thing as design dyslexia because they all look fine to me shrug

I am about to release a streaming Internet radio app (Pentode) and I thought it was cool to be able to listen to FM stations far away - but when I read this I realise what really WAS cool.

Edit: downvoted comment??

I can imagine you’d be embarrassed, I did stupid stuff too, but unless you’re running for Congress you should just say “I was a stupid teenager” and let it wash. Anyone fair minded will dismiss it.

Love the John Politics page, utterly slick completely bland and phoney. Assume it’s a meme i missed, love it.

All I did was create a wrapper script to pipe to the torrent client, then "pipe these torrent files to the script" - so easy to circumvent you wonder why they bother

this skill may help: https://github.com/blader/humanizer

I already had DeepSeek tell me "I cant help you with torrents or other copyright infringing uses".

As someone with coding projects in the is area would you care to elaborate on "a lot of learned lessons"?

Shhh, do not talk about *senet!

exactly, there's no meaningful discussion without the pelican.

I wonder how much of this could be done by a clever linker? There’s a lot of skill in there but how would an llm do, for the rest of us?

Someone must be fishing for C&D letters

This seems like something that could be confirmed by reverse engineering a printer’s firmware? Surely someone has done that?

Second lawyer here, well - ex-lawyer, I'm saying the first Law Talking Guy is 100% right.

It was a great comment, HN still offers nuggets now and then

“Will no-one rid me of this turbulent priest?”

I was also going to make a snarky comment about AI written blog posts but they are just so prevalent now it’s barely worth saying. I just have to suppress the irritation and parse out the information. And I’m guilty of doing AI documentation so I’m a total hypocrite.

He was the house curmudgeon - hilarious

Is this issue specific to 122B or will it lurk in other 3.5 r 3.6 models? I run a 9B model locally so while this fix doesn't help me I'm wondering if it's general?

As a bonus it will also repel horse flies.

Indeed, a lot of HN readers don't realise their good luck in life. It takes a dose of poverty to bring perspective.

I was taught 20% of customers generate 80% of the work. It seemed borne out by experience and I mostly fucked them off, the surprise/outrage when I told them they weren’t a good fit and told to go elsewhere was something to behold.

Slightly tangential to the article, which seems interesting, but the main issue with IPFS was the horrendous performance of clients which I seem to recall related to having a refresh storms, sparse routing tables, unreachable peers as well as lookup speeds. Mostly the reputation was so bad that people didn't bother with it, I dismissed it for my own project. If your only users are crypto-grift projects you're in a bad place.

True. But for how long? 6-9 months till Mythos equivalence in glm-5.4?

The counter example is the administration’s great success in the Iran war. Oh, wait.

Shutup peasant, you'll get it when we say. And be grateful.

When I was a lawyer my selling point was exactly that I knew tech deeply, coming from a dev background, and was current as I read Slashdot daily compiled my own Linux kernels etc. It allows punters trust you & is a rainmaking skill.
