dawson··on Apple Reports Third Quarter Results
This is true for community generated playlists too. I pay for Apple One, therefor Apple Music, but I keep returning to YouTube Music and Spotify because they both prioritise community generated playlists in their recommendation engine and search results.
dawson··on Tailscale ate my network (and I love it)
For those still using SSH as normal, you can setup Tailscale to accept connections only from Tailscale, and ignore any public internet traffic i.e., restrict ssh access to be only over Tailscale. For example, with UFW you could delete every rule except for the “Anywhere on tailscale0” and “41641/udp” rules.

dawson··on UK Parliament petitions website down amid overwhelming brexit rejection
It's a petition for debate, only.

If the issue has already been debated recently, the Petitions Committee may decide not to put a petition forward –– and one might argue that this petition has already been debated in parliament.

This particular [petition] case is already active in the UK court, which means the petition does not meet the required standard to be considered.

dawson··on Mark Zuckerberg accused of abusing power after row over 'napalm girl' photo
My comment only highlights the Newspaper requesting different editorial rights on Facebook between editors and users, while at the same time defending editorial freedoms – I have no opinion on Facebook's TOS, or what influences public opinion.

I do agree, however, that some things are bigger than hurt feelings.

dawson··on Mark Zuckerberg accused of abusing power after row over 'napalm girl' photo
In other news, Newspaper requests different rights for “editors and other Facebook users” as a way to stop 'limiting of freedoms'.

tl;dr Editor breaks TOS, uses open letter to misuse own editorial responsibility.

GTD and Kanban boards, as a single interface to manage tasks across different services
dawson··on The Strange and Complicated Future of the E-Cigarette Industry
It's true that studies show concentrations are so low they may not pose much of a health risk, however, ultra-fine carcinogenic hydrocarbons are still released into the air - and the 'fact' is, more data is needed before we fully understand any potential concerns.
