deepstack··on Particle Physicists Continue to Make Empty Promises
be interested to see those paper that disproves them. Can't be any worse then the string theory.
deepstack··on Particle Physicists Continue to Make Empty Promises
yeah more funding and focus should start to focus on stuff like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Exceptionally_Simple_Theory...

Time to spend some money else well.

deepstack··on Egypt Blocks Access to Telegram
Unfortunately unless there are financial incentive to do that it will not be adopted. Maybe try to get the porn industry to adopt these services first, maybe others will follow.

deepstack··on What ORMs Have Taught Me: Just Learn SQL (2014)
Most programmer has problem with SQL because it is declarative langue, and doesn't fit into the C, Java context very well. However, if you just spend some time getting use to declarative langue, you will find SQL is quite nice. You just ask for stuff you are looking for and the computer will give to you. And SQL servers like Postgres has gotten so optimised in returning search results, it really out performs mapReduce.

deepstack··on When You Get into Unschooling, It’s Almost Like a Religion
I personal experience I find home schooled friends are smarter and more educated than public schooled ones. Yeah you would say there may be correlation instead of causation. However, US public school system really leave me extremely unsatisfied. Would never send my kids to US public school.
deepstack··on The Centralized Internet Is Inevitable
Please read Master Switch by Tim Woo. It is worth noting that most things that are marketed as grass root are designed to be centralised.
deepstack··on The Centralized Internet Is Inevitable
If you read Tim Woo's master switch you will get everything is designed to be centralised. Internet is designed to be centralised.

The bottom line is that the infrastructure (the cable and the cell towers are centralised). Until we can legally encrypt over Ham radio and quality peer reviewed open sourced post-quantum encryption algorithm Internet is centralised!

deepstack··on Modern-Day Architecture Design Patterns for Software Professionals
>Has anybody legitimately had good experiences with microservices these days? Especially if you're not starting with a monolith that has done well? My experience at several companies, several projects, has been that what was actually just a poorly built, inflexible, monolithic application becomes a poorly built, distributed, networked, polyglot application that is now 100x less flexible. Sure you can reimplement any microservice interface any time you want and drop in the replacement, but good luck figuring out where that was being called and how many unique and interesting ways it might break if you don't implement the edge cases in the same way.

It depends on the team. If there is a large team, then yes micro-services could be a good choice. It is not silver bullet. In the end it comes down the the quality of developers. With a group of good quality developers then a good product can be build with micro-services or monolith. With functional programming or OO or declarative.

Stop using marketing people who uses buzz word without understanding underling tech.

deepstack··on The Serverless Revolution Has Stalled
Serverless is meant to make bar lower for front-end developer so they don't have to learn the basics about web back-end development and be able to develop apps. I'm very glad if failed!

People who don't put time into learning development should not do it.

deepstack··on Overmind.js – Frictionless State Management
Having more developers, commits and code doesn't mean better software!

In general CS course I took in Uni over 20 years ago, one learns about data structure and state of an application with multiple threads. It is something 'web developer' lacks as web was originally meant to be a document based.

I am not saying developers can't pick that up during their development career, it is just that the bar for being a developer has being simnifically lowered in the last few years. It turned more into a buzz word now days.

deepstack··on Feds may target Google's Chrome browser for breakup
what really need to happen with ani-trust is to alter the system politically, monetarily and militarily to prevent oligopoly. oligopoly is pretty much monopoly with theatre piece.
deepstack··on Overmind.js – Frictionless State Management
Lib like this or Redux seems like to try to better help people who don't have CS back ground to develop. Anyone who had CS training should be able to state management in plain JS or other general purpose programming language.
deepstack··on Please stop using CDNs for external JavaScript libraries
Good! The whole idea for doing js on CDN is suppose to make it easier for entry level front dev to be able to start coding. I think that is great for a school exercise, should never be used in business or production sites.

And on a side note, very unhappy about how the entry to be a developer has lower significantly over the last 10 years or so.

deepstack··on Apple’s T2 security chip jailbreak
what I mean by that is it really more about one's threat model. Give enough time and capable people, any system can be broken into.
deepstack··on Apple’s T2 security chip jailbreak
More and more after over 10 years working in tech I'm convinced that there is no digital system is a secure system. Hardware and Software.
deepstack··on Apple’s T2 security chip jailbreak
Some one from Apple, I'm sure you read this. Please answer this ASAP. I rely on mac and FileValute for professional use at work. Need to know the state of this exploit.
deepstack··on Free, Privacy-First Analytics for a Better Web
Exactly! I think most people don't realize the problem of browsing web with JS turned on.
deepstack··on Free, Privacy-First Analytics for a Better Web
offer something that is privacy-first analytics ought to be a pixel embed. Why would I trust an external js source that could change introduce security risk?
deepstack··on Judge temporarily blocks U.S. ban on TikTok downloads from U.S. app stores

One thing off top of the head is

For example: If the DNS was initially designed as such as https://handshake.org could be a better place to lay the foundation of Internet.

deepstack··on Threat Models for Differential Privacy
Feel like that is what Signal and Protonmail are doing. As a user I welcome this. We should never trust data curator.
