>If I'm not in love, if I'm not with a long-term companion, I cannot be happy," he told Rolling Stone. "I will never be happy without having someone. Going to sleep alone kills me. It's not like I don't know what that feels like: Being in a big empty house, and the footsteps echoing through the hallway, no one there -- and no one on the pillow next to you. F--. How do you make yourself happy in a situation like that?"

That sounds like what my friend made as a cashier here in Mexico.
Very shitty payment, even for this country. A good entry level job starts at about 10k a month.
That just means you get to eat more yummy food.
>and are pretty useless, except for our stupidly wrong society's standards
That depends on what you want/like to do.
But this has nothing to do with the moral issue. Maybe it was the fact that "in-valids" had to struggle and deal with discrimination which caused the character to give his most, given that he knew where he standed while the 'valids' are in a place of comfort.
>Neither method has been approved in the US, so Zhang went to Mexico instead, where he says “there are no rules”.

Sometimes here in HN you will hear about how things like name, age, etc are bias for who gets hired, and people being rejected based on those things. So just add "method of conception" to that.
Yeah, someone's friend is going to kick you. But why wouldn't they kick you if you're standing and not facing them?
I wouldn't say that's a disadvantage of BJJ but rather one of facing multiple opponents. Like facing someone who has a gun. You're at disadvantage no matter how much knowledge you have.
The problem with not being able to practice a technique in sparring, or "live" with a resisting opponent is that you don't know how good you are when time comes and you have to apply it.
If someone you work with gets hit by a bus tomorrow, can you still ssh into the server? Can you continue working with the code they wrote?
Or is that all knowledge lost? If they're not indispensable that means that's all well documented.
Well, sometimes, if they don't have the resources to pay a later charged number they'll be sold. I can not remember the name of the documentary where I saw that. But basically if you're crossing the border with the help of a 'pollero' (who most likely has a connection to the cartel), and you or your family don't have resources to pay a fee after you're across the border they take you until you pay for it with work (sexual for women) which can take years regardless of how fast they get that amount due to your work.
Foucault argued that the point of prison is to create more crime though.
Now, are dealers purposively endangering their clients? I don't think so, but risks do come with getting drugs (e.g the police/military comes by, a rival cartel comes by, etc). Also, most of their income comes from the drugs they sell in the states so I don't think losing customers here is such a (monetary) loss to them.

I know of people missing who's only doing was driving thru a highway to go somewhere else. This idea that only Bad People doing Bad Things™ are in risk here is dumb.
edit: I think it's kind of sad that there's people capable of ending other people's lives just like that, with no remorse, no second thought about it. With that said, many did survive.
edit 2: after re-reading the source I posted below I noticed that I had missed something, he ordered them to go away after shooting (I'm guessing to the sky?). Still, hearing someone order your death, can't imagine how scary that'd be.
