dherken··on Popular Websites Displayed in IE 5
All 5 pages render fine on IE 5 (I cannot read the text though). Only baidu gives me a JS error message, but seems to work regardless...

This would be fun, I'll try to get Netscape Navigator 4.5 and AOL Explorer 1.? running...

dherken··on Show HN: Embed Full-Page Screenshots in any Blog / App / Whatever
I've added this to the to-do list...
dherken··on Show HN: Embed Full-Page Screenshots in any Blog / App / Whatever
It runs a full blown browser in the background so it should handle most things you can throw at it.

Oh quite different: Mostly it's used to create images inside reports or to display thumbnails for the user.

The Full-Page Screenshots is the main selling point at the moment...

dherken··on Show HN: Embed Full-Page Screenshots in any Blog / App / Whatever

You can specify the viewport size. For example the smashing magazine using 1024x768 viewport: http://www.url2picture.com/Picture/Png/?apikey=6101EE5C99B14...

And using 400x400 viewport: http://www.url2picture.com/Picture/Png/?apikey=6101EE5C99B14...

Thats a great project, but I would need to host it myself somewhere?
dherken··on Show HN: Embed Full-Page Screenshots in any Blog / App / Whatever
Yes it does. See this example of the nytimes: http://url2picture.com/Picture/Png/?apikey=6101EE5C99B145ECB...

Of course there are limits to this as some websites have "endless" scrolling (like pintrest)

dherken··on Show HN: Embed Full-Page Screenshots in any Blog / App / Whatever
Sure you could, but then why would one go through all the hassle just to get a (probably already cached) screenshot?
dherken··on Show HN: Embed Full-Page Screenshots in any Blog / App / Whatever

dherken··on JavasScript and HTML5: Chrome beats IE10
Your right of course but if IE 10 will be around 1 year (http://www.favbrowser.com/preliminary-internet-explorer-11-a...) we will be glad for ever bit of performance it has...

dherken··on Ask HN: How much recurring income do you generate, and from what?
About 200 - 300 a day...
dherken··on Ask HN: What are your failed projects / ideas?
You could look at it like that :-)
dherken··on Ask HN: What are your failed projects / ideas?
My greatest failed project was http://appsmerge.com

The idea was that you could combine all your social media news streams (fb, twitter usw..) into one stream (just like a rss reader). It never got above a few users, and i did not have any ads or anything in place. Still use it myself though...

dherken··on Ask HN: How much recurring income do you generate, and from what?
I make between $500 und $100 per month off my stand-alone cross-browser testing tool: http://www.browseemall.com

The product was launched on february this year and it's growing nicely so far. Not real recurring yet, as every sale comes with one year of free updates.
