dilipray··on AWS App Runner will no longer be open to new customers
AWS App Runner will no longer accept new customers starting on April 30, 2026. Your existing App Runner services will remain operational and accessible. AWS continues to invest in security and availability, but we do not plan to introduce new features. For deploying and running containerized applications, we recommend Amazon ECS Express Mode , a new capability in Amazon ECS. To learn more, see our migration guidance.
dilipray··on Meta Llama 3 Available on Cloudflare Workers AI
I faced latency challenges on llama2. So I haven’t used it.

Usually OpenAI response is within 2 seconds, but llama2 takes 20+ seonds for the same.

How are they tackling the performance?

> It’s that is not enough to just know some new cool technology, nod along and go about your day with your assumptions unchallenged. You need to find out more, test it out, have a grasp before committing to it, and, if you’re lucky, learn a thing or two in the process.

dilipray··on Apple starts rejecting apps with “hot code push” features
"Hi there -- I believe that title isn't quite accurate; Apple specifically is referring to behavior of a library called Rollout which lets people dynamically inject Objective-C/Swift. They are doing hot delivery of native, Objective-C code. It's really not about React Native nor Expo.

Expo (and the React Native library we use) doesn't do any of that. We also make sure we don't expose ways to dynamically execute native code such as the dlopen() function that Apple mentioned in that message. We also haven't received any messages from Apple about Expo, nor have we heard of any Expo developers receiving the same." - Exponent Team

dilipray··on Ask HN: Question regarding NDA/Non-compete
It complete depends on country.

If you are in India. NDA(exists), but it's worth as much as a paper. NCA doesn't exist, Until you are using the existing companies properties(software, hardware) which literally means stealing from one company and giving to others. Until then it's not a crime.

It's good for India, because it's promoting the trade to the country and in India we support good competition.

Government was against google when they were trying to dominate the virtual advertisement by acquiring a small startups from India.

Nice Hack
dilipray··on Ask HN: Has anyone used a dynamic equity sharing model (grunt fund)?
I think not all the time everything goes by Grunt Fund. I didn't read the book, but know the concept a little bit.

Sometimes people contribute more than money, they believe in your startup and give you strength.

That is my personal opinion.

dilipray··on IP protection before approaching VC
VCs Generally have tons of ideas. They invest on the founders and your background in solving a problem.

If you are focused and domain knowledge on what you are working on, to solve a real world problem. They will be dying to invest in you.

If you are not the right person to solve that problem, and your idea/product is amazing. You should be make an IP and find for experts who can help you with that.

It also depends on what you are building. If you are BT you should definitely patent it.

But if it's not complex you don't need any kind of IP.

dilipray··on The web of names, hashes and UUIDs
Got it. Thank you.
dilipray··on The web of names, hashes and UUIDs
Why not something like Bit.ly Combination of 6 Chars? 57+B Combination is a good number. For a short URL website.

For content website, something like Youtube which has combination of 11 Chars. It's pretty good. For them but surely will have a problem in future but that might be after 5+ Years. But if they add one more char, it will have more combinations.

If this is about URLs and not files. Can any one correct me if I am wrong.
