dolson··on Post-apocalyptic life in American health care
Emergent behaviour.
dolson··on macOS High Sierra: Anyone can login as “root” with empty password
In a case like this, I think it would be best to maximize the bad publicity. Bad publicity is the minimum Apple deserves for a bug like this. In my idea world they'd get a lot of bad publicity, and a significant financial penalty.
dolson··on Secretary Problem
Maybe you were the first person he interviewed.
dolson··on Termux: terminal emulator and Debian-style userland as an Android app
Where do you find the paid add-ons?
dolson··on The Terrifying Power of Internet Censors

dolson··on AMD has no plans to release PSP code

dolson··on Where Is Nokia Now?

But as far as I know, such a BSE has never happened in medicine. There have been many developments that have reduced mortality for people below the maximum lifetime, but there has never been a medical breakthrough which dramatically increased the longevity of the very oldest people. If something is developed that allows us to have as many 130 year old people as we now have 100 year old people, it will be qualitatively different than anything that came before.
dolson··on Curiosity rover writes Morse Code of JPL everywhere it goes
It should have been DEI.
